Overall Satisfaction with Zoho Reports

It is being used by the sales and analytics departments to provide access to information that is not available through the normal reports functionality of Zoho and to get easier access than through normal Zoho. We need to have reporting on different modules in a way that the reports in Zoho CRM do not support.
  • It does what it's supposed to
  • It supports different kinds of SQL
  • You can sync data on demand
  • The auto-formatting of SQL is horrible
  • It's way too hard to figure out how to give people access
  • The time it takes to sync data is incredibly variable and, at times, excessive.
It is easy to set up a sync schedule once you figure out the completely non-intuitive place where they have put that functionality within Zoho Reports. It is also easy to do an on-demand sync, again once you figure out where that since it is not clear. It can take absolutely forever, though.
Like many things with Zoho, it is not obvious how to actually give someone else access to a data report. It is easy to set up a schedule to auto-distribute a report, though, which is useful so that we can set up weekly/monthly reports without having to remember to do them every week/month.
If there are analytics or technical people who know SQL and are frustrated by the poor functionality of the reports in Zoho CRM, it is probably worth paying extra for Zoho Reports rather than continuing to struggle with the reports in Zoho CRM. If not, then there is no need for it.
