Overall Satisfaction with Zoom Workplace

Our workplace utilizes Zoom Workplace when clients sent invites utilizing Zoom Workplace. Otherwise, we default to Teams or Slack for internal use. As such, we only use it when invites are sent from outside parties utilizing Zoom Workplace for video conferencing. We use this to perform video conferencing between many users. It addresses the problems of needing a services to video conference.

Pros

  • Easy to use from browser
  • Useful email invites
  • Allows information to be easily publicly available so we can be bothered by salesmen and fraudsters.

Cons

  • Better options to expunge data so it isn't publicly available.
  • Better settings for audio/recording devices.
  • Easier drop-in / drop-out from calls.
  • We have to support Zoom Workplace occasionally for Clients who prefer to use Zoom Workplace. This has made it an additional platform we have to support.
  • It helps team members connect well via browser, for times when they don't otherwise have a preferred platform.
  • Zoom Workplace information from our team has become public knowledge via sites like ZoomInfo, this has resulted in more spam and phishing emails targeting our team.
We prefer Slack for interoffice communications. We find it more convenient, easier to use, and more customizable. Administration is pretty easy too. We utilize Microsoft Teams otherwise, as we are a Microsoft shop and integrating Teams is easier when we are already heavily Microsoft integrated. Zoom Workplace is used when a client request a meeting using Zoom Workplace, which is to say we select it when a client would prefer to use Zoom Workplace instead.

Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Microsoft Office 2016 (discontinued)
Useful for when clients send us invites to video conferencing utilizing Zoom Workplace. Fine for multi-party meetings. Easy enough to invite people. Less useful for quick drop-in / drop-out calls. Less useful for inter-office communications than Slack. Additionally, in environments with poor internet connectivity, the platform may experience lag or connection issues, affecting the meeting quality. Not great if you're using mobile to connect.
