Likelihood to Recommend If you don't have to manage your client's email and their email archiver Acronis works very well. If you're looking for just a backup service for what's on a particular computer then Acronis is perfect. It is easy to use, so newcomers are not overwhelmed with features. It does not include as robust features as Barracuda and Cloudberry, but it does work well as just a backup.
Read full review It scales well from the individual to corporate environments with many different plans to suit your needs and budget. For backing up servers such as Exchange or SQL I've used their sister product iBackup, which is also excellent and we have no problems with, so maybe they should merge the two products into one which would make it a better overall proposition. It also seems to handle backing up mapped drives as well, which is what we used for a while before getting the on server version. That being said it can use up quite a bit of bandwidth so make sure you schedule at night when noone is working. However it does only backup changed files which is great.
Read full review Pros Image based backups. After the initial backup, the backups happen quite quickly. This allows for multiple backups per day. We have different classes of data which requires different retention policies. Acronis makes that easy to manage. Restoration can be done directly to hardware or to a VM. This makes it easy to migrate a physical server to a VM. Read full review I'm using it on MAC, the app works very well in the background Logging activities is something I really like, because I can check whether the backup was successful or not. I really like the option of being able to select external drivers and back up only specific folders or files. The application itself is very easy to use, even though it doesn't have a version in my language (pt-br), I had no trouble setting it up and I'm using it without any problems. Read full review Cons The web interface is slow and can kick you off from time to time I do find that the error messages are hard to decipher if/when a backup is unsuccessful. However, support is very good in helping out the solution The user interface is not intuitive enough to find failures in backups or track logs with alerts or errors Read full review It is becomes painfully slow for its unlimited backup when most of the users who use it for long time even for a month. This should be improved. There are not many options on the IDrive to select the "AUX" menu, I'm experiencing this problem with my newly bought second hand BMW 3 series E90 32i, 2010 model. There is not external devices alternative for me. Restoring an older version of a file is the hardest stuffs for me Read full review Likelihood to Renew We have renewed our subscription over the course of a few years now. We used to use Backup Exec and it was tedious and difficult to obtain our backups when needed. Acronis just fits our environment style and the way we prefer to do business and use our third party software.
Read full review It does everything that it needs to to create an effecitve Three level backup to the cloud of all your important data, its reliable, dependable and peformant in its use cases. It overcomes the need to store offsite physical media such as Tape or disk storage. And its cost and level of reporting can be tailored to fit the use case of your business.
Read full review Usability I give it a rating of 9 do to its ease of usability. It's ease of understanding how to setup - form - fit - and function. I have no sorrows when having to login to the console in order to setup a new backup schedule or retrieve and recover lost data.
Read full review A fantastic set of tools, you starting using one solution or another and end up using the all set tools. Both the tools for personal use and for business have the same model of success: optimum data management, total control of access and high security, reducing our time to keep track and generating efficiency to make the tasks of managing large scales of data simpler.
Read full review Support Rating I only got one issue resolved for more than 20 cases open. The escalation is ineffective. Most of the time, I have the feeling that I know the solution better than the support technician. Overall, case management is time-consuming, as our resolution rate is really low
Read full review I have not had to use their tech support. I did call once but luckily figured out what to do while I was on hold so I disconnected. If I really needed them it would have been a very long hold time I suppose.
Read full review Implementation Rating I don't have any real key 'insights' per say except that it wasn't difficult at all, and do not be afraid to dabble in its tools and settings. It is quite intuitive with built in common sense. I cannot say enough good things about our companies experience when using this backup software.
Read full review Did not participate in the implementation.
Read full review Alternatives Considered We've looked at SolarWinds, Veritas, etc. but none of them had the right combination of features, price and ease of use when compared against Acronis and its ease of implementation, setup and recovery options. We didn't like the wait time for recovery with some of the others and being able to quickly get a machine back entirely was important to us.
Read full review I was a Backblaze user for 5 years because they had a very cost effective plan for my storage needs. However, they were very poor at backing up external devices quickly, and made it a pain in the butt to keep the backups active due to their 30 days connectivity policy.
Dropbox is a great fit for cloud backup when you need to access the backup files in the cloud frequently.
IDrive is the best solution out there for true backup of devices in case they are damaged or lost.
Read full review Contract Terms and Pricing Model I would love it if they offered better cloud space pricing or even "unlimited"
Read full review Scalability The ability to back up multiple servers from one source is a great tool to have for businesses that have equipment in different locations on the same network with a variety of software data to back up such as SQL, Exchange or a Files Server. You can decide to purchase individual server licenses as well if you would like to keep the process separate or have multiple sites where your data is housed.

Backup is a great protection against ransomware, you can always restore files that has been infected. When you want to go back in previous version of files, it can be life saver. Read full review iDrive has saved us money as their pricing structure is fair and they allow multiple devices to be backed up under the same account - where others do not. iDrive has saved us time as we no longer have to manually back up and sync files on our computers to external drives. iDrive has lessened the burden of stress. We no longer worry that we may lose critical data that can no longer be recovered. Read full review ScreenShots IDrive Online Backup and Object Storage e2 Screenshots
