AgoraPulse

I can't think of a scenario where AgoraPulse (AP) is not well suited, except in a situation where you might have many clients utilizing a specific social platform not integrated into AP yet. AgoraPulse is great for individual users as well as larger teams, from a small number of clients to many social accounts (we have between 30-40).

Pros

  • Easy to use - new members are trained within minutes on using the platform, and more advanced users can quickly find information in the tutorials section.
  • Assigning social interactions to specific team members is a crucial feature of the platform for our team.
  • AgoraPulse has done a good job adding new features and continuing to grow the offerings of an already outstanding social management platform.

  • Integration with Infusionsoft is easy (Infusionsoft purchased GroSocial).

  • Notifications of usability updates could be handled better, and could be more timely.
  • Notifications of usability issues could also be handled in a more timely manner.
  • We would like to see integration with more social platforms, but we also understand the time consuming nature of that work...it would just be nice to have!

  • When Infusionsoft purchased GroSocial it seemed like product development ceased. Many other companies surpassed their abilities.
  • They are very expensive for what they offer. Many other companies now offer better platforms, for far less.
  • When there was an issue (ie in a campaign, or link broke etc) the support team would blame the client first, when in most cases it could be proven to be a software malfunction.
  • Tabs are no longer smart phone friendly. When we stopped using GroSocial they had not set up the redirect link at that time. This may have changed now.
  • When you manage multiple accounts, your client could stop your access to their account. They could then stop paying for the service, and their tabs would still be live. GroSocial is the only one who could disable the tabs. It was not automatic.

Alternatives Considered

To be quite honest, we tried Agorapulse first and liked it so much we decided to go with Agorapulse almost immediately. Ease of use, accessible and easily obtainable analytics were the selling points.Tried Hootsuite but it really did not match up in comparison. Did not like the analytics, and the multiple column social engagement panel was difficult to navigate and hard to learn.We wanted to go with Sprout Social, but it was too expensive for our budget.

GroSocial quite simply does not stack up to the competition. They are years behind in development. We have moved all our clients to other platforms.

Return on Investment

  • They've doubled our Facebook likes within a year. We're not sure how to monetize that, but with the reach we're getting, we are certain that our AgoraPulse efforts coupled with all our social media properties is a huge asset in growing our brand.
  • We have a very difficult brand to make sexy or appealing, as we are a B2B wholesaler---nothing sexy about that! On Facebook, through AgoraPulse, we have chosen to build trust with our audience, and not concerned about turning all of our efforts into leads. Non-profits are a huge part of our business and we reach out to them with our monthly contests.
