The Cisco Webex DX80 was a technology supporting HD video conferencing and digital whiteboarding. It is discontinued, and is superseded by capabilities found in Cisco Desk Pro.
Formerly have used the Cisco Webex DX80 for a similar use case. The DX80 was good as a stand-alone single user video unit but really not much beyond that. The integrations with Windows/MAC desktop was non existent with the DX80 where the Webex Desk Pro has made huge …

Chose Cisco Desk Series
The Cisco Webex Desk Pro is an advanced collaboration device that integrates a strong artificial intelligence component through the cloud, which the DX80, for example, does not provide.
Cisco Webex Desk Pro also provides a superior audio system to the DX80 and advanced …
I selected DX80 because I use it in a variety of environments at the office, in a home office, in shared workspaces, or in shared quiet rooms. With built-in wireless connectivity, set-up is quick and easy no matter where you work. Cisco Webex DX Series is ideal for everyone who …
The Cisco Webex DX80 is a convenient app that can serve as both a video communications system and an additional display. Having the capacity to communicate via Webex is another significant advantage to have. As time goes on, I am invited to participate in more and more Webex …
If you're looking for a next-generation set of video endpoints that can manage higher load and have the compute/CPU/memory to handle feature upgrades that match Cisco's newest improvements in order to keep this product line competitive, Cisco Webex Desk Pro is for you.
Desk Pros are the next-gen set of video endpoints that are built with the right set of hardware configuration, capable of handling more load, with enough compute/CPU/memory to handle feature upgrades that meet the latest advancements Cisco is making to make this product line …
The other advantage of the product is that you could use it as a conference system as well as a screen for your PC. So I'm working with three screens and one of these screen is the Desk Pro, so I do not need another screen. So it's saving space in my desk and it's high quality. So this is the plus function.
It is an excellent choice for a personal device if you want to bring an independent device to meetings and add it as a second display at the same time. I don't believe that there is nearly as much benefit in using anything in a shared environment or in shared mode. My opinion is that the Room Kits that include displays that can flip or be touched by Samsung are more suited for that.
It gives the added function of having multiple lines we can set up called pickup groups or music on hold, so that way it best suits whatever facilities need to have. We can set that up and it works for them on different types of phones. We also have, since Covid, everyone has gone home to work from home and we have our knock who needs to reach out in case of anything. So they needed to have VPN capabilities. So our older models of the 7942s have VPN capabilities for them to be able to also work from home.
The device it self is incredible, but not allowing us to plug a computer devices such as mouse & keyboard direct in USB ports is a penalty. We'd like to bring up the laptop, open it, and start working.
In the workplace, Cisco Webex DX80 is ideal for group meetings. It's as simple as entering the room, dialing the destination number, and joining the video. It's simple and convenient. It offers an easy-to-use menu and user interface. My own opinion is that Cisco's usability is fantastic and I like it greatly. I encountered no issues.
I have not had to use support yet as our use of Webex Desk Pro is so new, but all the questions that I have had have been answered with such promptness and clarity that it is clear Cisco has a passion about this device and about providing high quality in all that they do. Their support is top notch and you will never need to fear when reaching out to them.
I give top marks for Cisco Webex DX80 support. We have Cisco Smartnet and I can confirm that they are exceptional in answering and resolving doubts and problems with the device. On the phone, you are quickly answered and one of the Cisco experts solves your problem in your language.
Organisation decided to went ahead with Cisco Webex Desk Pro becase of these following key differences: 1.- Microphone: Advanced noise-canceling microphone array vs Built-in microphone with Logitech MeetUp. 2.- Speakers: Superior Sound system vs Built-in speakerphone with Logitech MeetUp. 3.- Display: 27-inch 4K touchscreen vs. No touchscreen with Logitech MeetUp. Cisco TAC support is great.
Didn't have any experience with other product lines as our company was a user and a fan of the Cisco Webex platform so didn't bother to go to any other competition. Webex provided us with all that was required to fulfill our business needs while maintaining high end.
It helped us get our Sr. Leadership team familiar with and excited about Webex. Then, them spreading the word helped align the company with the new Webex software coming and saved us a bunch on training. When users were more excited about a product, they soak it in better.
This device has been a mainstay in our COVID working from home plans. This allows the business to keep running AND meet face to face when it's not safe yet to do so.
