    This tool is well-suited for companies looking to run email marketing campaigns or send out newsletters regularly to their users/customers. The workflow setup is especially useful for companies who want to send specific emails based on user behavior - i.e. they've not logged in recently, have bought a specific product, haven't opened any emails, etc. This could also be useful for freelancers like me since you can create different workspaces within Customer.io. I have configured it this way to handle email marketing for a few of my clients, and the software keeps everything organized and separate. This might not be the best tool for small businesses, considering the price. It may be better to start out with a cheaper email marketing tool, and then if/when necessary, scale-up with a tool like Customer.io.

    Using Pipedrive to collect customer data and setup automated tasks is great. This allows leads to flow into Pipedrive and be assigned to the right team member. Notes and tasks can then be created in the specific deal and can be easily transferred to another team member. The system is very easy to use

    Pros

    Customer.io

    • Managing users, attributes and events. You are easily able to modify any user, based on their ID, and add or remove attributes, assign events to them. That makes it very easy to segment later and to assign them to several campaigns based on behavior. Just a warning: this integration isn't so easy (at least it wasn't for us).
    • Creating workflows of campaigns is very easy. You can quickly create behavioral campaigns based on attributes, segments and add elements to the workflow. You can send an email, then wait, then send another, then exit the campaign if they converted, etc. The workflow is easy to configure and very powerful for automation.
    • We don't use many email templates (we make them in MJML) but it's very easy to add senders, to change templates and in general to test designs.
    • Deliverability works very well, at least for us. It sends emails pretty fast and without issues.
    • Exporting is very quick and easy. Importing wasn't a feature until recently, but it works well too.
    • Seeing activity it's also useful. In general, logs are awesome (be it of a customer, of activity on the site, email sends, etc.).
    • We don't use environments, but it might be very useful for a bigger company.

    • Onboarding - Pipedrive makes it very simple to onboard your organization with very simple tasks.
    • Workflow Automation - for the price, Pipedrive's workflow automation tasks are very robust. It amazed me how many different tasks, from emails to creating activities, it is fantastic how much time a well designed system can save your organization.
    • Tracking deal stages is very simple and what is nice is now actionable which certainly keeps you on your toes to close the net deal.

    • A bit too email centric.
    • Lacks an ability to schedule messages on a daily, weekly, etc. basis.

    • There is definitely a bit of a learning curve
    • Marketplace integrations developed by Pipedrive need some work as they're not too reliable or 'fully-featured' yet
    • It is expensive compared to alternatives and extra addons are costly even though it could be argued they should be part of the main package.

    As the first Pipedrive user in the company, my task was to understand the use of the platform and configure it, for me it was very easy to enroll in the platform. With the system ready, it was time to train all the users and it was very easy for them to understand it since it is as easy as using a social network.

    The team at Pipedrive has always been available nearly instantly via the in-app texting feature. We have never lingered, awaiting their response for anything we asked them and they always work hard to fix whatever issue we may encounter. This makes a huge difference in our decision to stick with Pipedrive in the long run.

    Customer.io was really the first pure, full-featured drip email program on the market and as far as I know, it's still the simplest and best overall for that specific function. SendGrid has also added drip campaign features, but I would seriously evaluate Customer.io against any other drip email provider because they really have all the key elements you need to make it work.

    Pipedrive works significantly better than monday. We trialed monday for a short period of time, but made a quick switch to Pipedrive upon recommendation by a competing vendor. I do not recall the specific reasons why we were so certain that the switch made sense, but it was readily apparent. I don't recall monday having the ability to integrate with our Google products as easily as Pipedrive. In addition, I do not recall monday having the same file repository capabilities. I do not remember exactly how much monday cost, but I believe the price point was close to that of Pipedrive. Finally, Pipedrive has the ability to create project entities, which can be connected to "people" entities (typically, the individual internal/external players involved with the project).

    • Overall Pipedrive has had a great impact on our ability to manage sales opportunities across multiple Pipelines and deal types. The ability to instantly see the status of every deal working is huge, especially when combined with a smart set up of the Deal Rotting function, and the fact the by default Pipedrive prompts you to always add a next action when completing an activity on a deal. It really teaches you to stay on top of deals.
    • Aside from being able to manage more deals on an individual level, Pipedrive's Sale Management of Deals allows sales managers to more effectively manage and empower their sales reps. This is key to being able to scale an early stage start-up or growth stage company. Every opportunity counts. And Pipedrive makes sure you have the ability to work them.
    • Pipedrive is straightforward and intuitive to use. It's simplicity hides a sophistication and elegance in the whole design and deployment of the tool. The team at Pipedrive obviously is experienced in managing sales and the processes essential to closing business. You won't have a huge learning curve for almost everyone you bring onto the platform.
