We are in Construction, but I recommended Dashpivot to my IT guy this morning. I could see a million ways that it could be used by anyone in just about any industry. We have just set up a template to track a specific (very large) variation. Each time spoil is taken from the site, the tonnes, docket number, date, time and rego number of the vehicle are recorded. The Site Manager is also taking a photo of the truck docket and attaching it. We can use the analytics function to track the progress and amounts as we go along. When it came time to bill, all the information will be right there at my fingertips. We are using Dashpivot for Site Diaries, Purchase orders, EOT's, RFI's, Concrete pour checklists, toolbox talks, variation requests, and the lists goes on.... the ONLY thing that our Site Manager has said it is not really suitable is the sign-in sheet. He said that really need to be something that the site visitors and Sub Contractors physically sign. Might work with Dashpivot is we had a "sign on Ipad" or something, but at this point, it is being done manually.

[Procure is] great for managing construction projects of varying size and complexity. Software can be used for bidding and management. Can also be used by field employees to help with distributing information to field supervision and to subcontractors. Having important project information at my fingertips has been a huge help with the fast pace of todays projects.

  • Site induction works well to capture all the information live from taking photos of the white card, licence and relevant certificate. Now with the new touchless system this will work even better.
  • I have found doing daily site diary is so easy to do now. To be able to capture progressive photos on the go. Also to list problems, track plant and equipment hire is a very good tool.
  • The site Safety template also works well as a quick way of capturing things and helps follow up on your own internal audits.

  • Development Wait Times - While happy to develop and update their products to suit customer needs there can be a waiting list for features to be developed if they aren't part of the platform already. If you are in a rush and a feature you need isn't available on the app then it may not be the best choice.

  • Procore's core project mgmt tools are not 100% fine-tuned. They are very slow to progress while Procore is trying to tackle market share in other related markets. The core tools seem to be [a] low priority for further development, for this reason, I suspect.
  • The email notifications are way too frequent and often do not have preference adjustments. They become white noise and are often ignored for this reason...not good for alerting project partners to important items on Procore.
  • It has not development reliable quantity takeoff tools. Most basic.

We have invested a significant amount of time fleshing out our Procore database. If we did not renew, that time investment would be lost. We have not identified a viable solution to the challenges Procore solves. Procore is dedicated to continually supporting Procore. We have invested in Procore as it is today and also what it is likely to become in the future.

It is so simple. I put off getting an online system for sooooo long because I dreaded the thought of getting a new system, having to set it all up and having to teach everyone how to use it. I also envisaged me being the port of call every time it stopped working or people didn't know what they were doing. I now wish I had done it a long time ago. The set up was so basic. I had 45 minutes of training over the phone in front of my PC and I was set to go! By the end of the day, I had already gone from "I'm just going to start off with Site Diaries and implement everything else gradually" to "this is bloody amazing, everything is now on Dashpivot and everyone is using it!" We converted our entire site and internal systems over to Dahpivot by Site Mate in the space of a day! True story.

If you are working in an area with little to no signal, Procore will still allow you to get in the system and use it fully and will then update once you are at a place with a strong enough signal. Whether it be with wifi or LTE cell phone reception.

Customer support has been amazing. Every time I've even had a question it is resolved very quickly either through the live chat function or a phone call to their friendly team. A lot of companies strive to have good customer service most of the time. In my experience, Dashpivot has great customer service every time I need it.

Procore has instant customer support via chat. If you particular issue cannot be resolved via the chat feature, they automatically notify customer support and you are notified through out the process that they are working on your issue. If your issue is very involved they will reach out to you via email and /or by telephone to walk through the issue and what is being done to resolve it. I've never had an issue just go to a black hole with no follow up.

Training can be at times hard to follow and a little boring, but this is your best bet to get the software on track and deployed into the field. Procore's web materials and videos can be helpful but the MOST helpful is when you are using the software and have the live chat support function at your disposal.

The hardest part about the implementation of Procore was getting all of our subcontractors uploaded into Procore and getting the correct contacts in for bidding. All of this information was with different people throughout our company, so getting it all into Procore and making sure it was correct was quite a challenge and caused the most growing pains for us. It was one of the reasons we had to wait to implement bidding because we couldn’t take the risk of sending out RFPs to people that weren’t correct or weren’t going to use Procore.

I don't think I have used a product like Dashpivot before. There have been times and projects where I've used different types of online databases but none were as flexible and as well suited to our needs as Dashpivot has been. Being able to adapt to situations we use it for and willing to further develop the app for situations that we desire to use it for in the future makes this one of, if not the best construction-related app that I have used.

We first utilized Procore because it was mandated by the Owner. However, after using it for a few years, I've found that it's my preferred platform. It works just as well (if not better!) than the other programs that I've used. It's typically more user-friendly.
