If you already use Jira for task tracking, it's definitely a good complement to have TeamBoard TimePlanner. And it's free to try. If you're not managing a team, like you are seeking a tool to coordinate yourself in your projects, you can find other tools in the market, even free for this purpose.

Microsoft Teams works great for our internal Team Meetings. We are able to connect and share information about our work week and also share training and ideas using PowerPoint slides and other screens. Microsoft Teams works well for our client presentations. We use PowerPoint and face to face communication to present complex information and can take questions from our clients and their employees and answer them in real time. When trying to communicate with a group audience in a larger room, such communications have been less successful, sometime requiring more verbal information sharing and follow up.

Microsoft
  • Chat, is a great way to talk to co-workers and even customers and vendors and keep the line of communication open.
  • Microsoft Teams allows our entire organization to meet together, for training, or company updates, etc.
  • Microsoft Teams stores whatever data we upload so we know it is safe! That information can also be only accessible to specific people or groups which is a great way to keep proprietary information safe.
  • Microsoft Teams has so many features that are so easy to use, it encourages employees to share information and collaborate.

Cons

Microsoft
  • Collaborating with external project members; the process and functionality is still not obvious, nor is it optimal - I would call it "kludgy"
  • Creating different Channels for projects is still a bit wonky, that area of fleshing out freedom to create new channels in a more open directory metaphor seems lost - everything tends to be too tied to your initial folder permissions which is stifling
  • Scheduling meetings from within Teams - all too often I schedule meetings that include outside collaborators/stakeholders, and they simply never get the invites. I have to copy the meeting info, create a calendar event in Outlook, add in the meeting info, and add the external stakeholders from there. It would seem an easy fix to better integrate Outlook calendar and Teams calendar.

Microsoft Teams is included with our Office 365 subscription and we have no intention of migrating off of Office 365 and Microsoft products. Since Microsoft Teams is included for free with our Office 365 subscription, and since we enjoy all the features, benefits, and functionality, there is no question that our team will continue to use the product

Microsoft Team is quite simple to use, once you understand how it works. However, I find that explaining its use to a new user requires more software expertise than comparable software. Efficient use of the software is also not fast. Moreover, adding components requires a learning curve which also complicates its use for a person unfamiliar with the environment.

Microsoft
The overall support provided by Microsoft for Microsoft Teams has been quite good but there is still some room for improvements. Microsoft needs to proactively work on fixing the open bugs in order to provide a seamless experience to the users. But over the service and experience provided by the Microsoft team have been quite satisfactory.

Different teams can be created in Microsoft Teams. Communication can happen in the channels of these teams along with document sharing and collaboration with other members who have joined that team. It supports various file formats. Microsoft Teams integrates well with other software like Microsoft Outlook. Also, scheduling meetings and adding team members to the meeting is simple.

Honestly, this tool is worth every penny. Yes, it's not free and you pay for the quality of services and the license. But the ROI and the benefits are all there. Also, the renewal, negotiation, and contract terms are all very well explained by our Microsoft account manager, and she's a charm.

I used Skype for Business to take calls, hold conferences, and provide remote assistance to users. Microsoft Teams, on the other hand, is superior to Skype for Business in my opinion. My job entails a lot of screen sharing.

  • I'm not sure I can point to a specific ROI, but it has improved our ability to communicate and work more effectively together.
  • It's also nice to have records of every interaction, photo, and document that has been shared. Less chance of something completely disappearing.
