Xactly SimplyComp was a sales incentive compensation planning application for sales commission and team performance tracking. It is a legacy product, and is no longer available for sale.

We did look at other vendors, but Varicent stood out in terms of offerings for the price. There were certainly fancier options, but this hit all marks--cost, quality, and features.
Everstage is well suited for smaller sales teams as it is little rigid with handling changes and maintenance is a task. Managing and computing on everstage is accurate and fast but making changes will require you to take help from the support team. They have an amazing support team to help you out.
For the use cases we have at the bank, ICM is a perfect solution. For any bank or institution that has similar requirements, ICM would be a perfect solution. But I also think for any use case that has any sort of incentives based on Sales done, this would work amazing, as both Calculations and reports are handled by ICM very well; it's an all-in-one solution, I feel like.
It's fine if your comp plans are really simple. It should have no problem multiplying ACV by a rep's BCR and maybe having a SPIFF or two. If you have accelerators, decelerators, complicated hierarchies, constant "exceptions to the rule", and need a platform to be flexible...SimplyComp simply won't be able to help here. Any "solutions" they implement will be short-term bandaids that will have to be addressed again sometime in the future
Reporting of financial statements is simple and easy to navigate.
Plans can be customized to meet multiple different types of bonus/commission schedules.
Salesforce integration further improves the automation of commission reporting.
Administrators have the ability to add/remove plans as needed limiting the need to work with a support person everytime a change is made to the commission plan. This has been particularly useful in our company as we are still trying to develop the appropriate commission plan structure so we are frequently making changes to the existing platform. Our administrator has had no issues making changes as needed and can typically get them done quickly.
As [the] model gets more and more transactional data, the calculation time increases. This should/can be handled internally with better model optimization.
Migrating from one env to other sometimes is challenging. There can be better 'Alerts' or 'Explanation' provided to handle it or at least to give a hint of the error.
For managers viewing their rep's report, the access part can be made easier. It should be linked to Payee hierarchy and access can be done automatically.
The platform is incredibly complex for non-basic commissions plans and setting things up is painful and time consuming.
Importing functionality is improving, but still subpar, requiring a lot of manual entry for customer plans.
The time lag to actually calculate commission (after a user clicks the "calculate" button) is long, leaving one sitting and waiting for the software to do its thing.
For our non-US team members, we wanted insight into USD and local currency commission. SimplyComp doesn't support this.
The reason to give this rating is corely because of multiple level analysis, everstage provide product level analysis which is truly beneficial for any business manager, we can understand which product is doing good in the organization and we can understand which sales executive is selling more which course. The sales executives can understand their next stage of the incentive and monthly target left to do
Customer support from IBM is impeccable. They are quick to respond and they don't nickel and dime you for every request you make. Their goal is to ensure your success and as a user, I really feel like they listen to my concerns. That's not to say there are no problems. All software has its issues, but I don't feel like those issues fall on deaf ears.
Everstage provides a modern functional incentive platform that supports accurate sales compensation calculation. With Everstage in place our organization is experienced a huge savings in time and costs, and was able to boot sales team engagement. From automation to compensation visibility, analytics to integration with our back office systems and CRM, Everstage covered all our bases.
Any calculations can be implemented as there are hardly any limitations on complexity. However, online real-time usability is lacking - a simple user enters, and the system calculates work in a way that it is in the browser and hence still needs overnight to be properly reflected in the batch calculations and backend tables.
Pages load quickly and dashboards refresh reliably under normal conditions. Reports complete in reasonable timeframes for standard queries. The Salesforce integration runs smoothly without noticeable slowdowns
All is fast, but with API's it is sometimes slower due to the application we are pulling data from. Reports are loaded directly or within seconds and our reports are very detailed with many columns and rows.
It's Wonderful. They have been accessible when in need. the response is immediate and genuine. the support wait time is not too long either. when a fault is pointed out, thy accept it and try to work on it and within a week they try to find a better option to resolve the issue. Accepting and working to deliver better is really appreciable thing. Kudos to the team on that
Giving a 10 would suggest there is no room for improvement. I don't feel like their support is perfect. However, I have never met another team that was more dedicated to making sure we get what we want and need.
Our Implementation Consultant was fantastic. She made herself available, scheduled for in advance to accommodate our schedule, and was very helpful on our calls. She happily executed work on our behalf behind the scenes to help move our implementation along. The Customer Support team was mixed, as is expected with Support teams. Nothing horribly bad, but nothing to write home about. SimplyComp is a newest product for Xactly so everyone is still learning it
Test test test. Make sure that the product is calculating everyone 100% correctly. DO NOT accept a 70% pass rate as some companies would like to have you believe is acceptable. This means conducting thorough testing by providing 100% of all expected results, but it will be worth it when you know that the compensation plans are working entirely as expected.
It was a company decision, Excel was not automated and had high chances of human error and if not updated properly there may be chances of someone losing out on their attainment Ever stage being automated and linked to salesforce there is very less probability of mistake and also transparency in the records
In 2015, we used a scorecard containing 80 attributes in our review of Oracle, Callidus, and Xactly & Varicent. Oracle did not have true self serve capabilities- programming was heavily required, not intuitive, out of the box functionality was limited. Callidus & Xactly could not provide us a demo using our data, statements could not be sent out in bulk form, difficulty in importing/exporting to CRM. Varicent excelled in most areas and was the clear winner.
This is the first time I've used a software for commision only. I've usually just used Salesforce to calculate my sales numbers and then do the math myself. This is nice to know the exact number but I don't think a lot better
Sales, Finance, and HR all operate off the same platform without friction. Managing multiple incentive plans across B2B and B2C segments simultaneously demonstrated its scalability firsthand.
It is very scalable and adaptable to changing complexities of calculations and business rules under a variety of different scenarios. It does not get full points because in large data loads the time needed to calculate and import the data increases exponentially and may cause issues related to timing potentially.
Compliance - with a central system used for calculation incentive payments and commissions, we are able to provide reports and data showing every detail of how payments are calculated and why they are justified. We can also identify anomalies and outliers.
Integration with our payroll system is seamless. Except for regular pay, nothing goes to payroll without going through ICM. The process for paying incentives/bonuses/commissions is now very structured and efficient.
Positive impact is our reps are able to view their commissions much more clearly in SFDC. We are also able to calculate 95% of our commissions more rapidly (and have to spot-check the rest).
Negative impact was the onboarding process and "learning as we go" rather than having a set process document for getting us live.
