We were using Goldmine prior to transitioning to GreenRope. The cost of Goldmine was the main reason we went looking for another CRM software and discovered that Goldmine at the time did not have some of the features of GreenRope and the price was just right.

GreenRope is much, much better than MailChimp. The functionality is much more sophisticated and the tracking metrics are a huge improvement.

Infusionsoft. Promised of lots of power. Got lots of "No"s when asking for anything non standard.

Cost to implement made GreenRope a clear winner for me. It does everything I need for less money.
Chose GreenRope
GreenRope really got our attention because it's a full featured system at every price point. We are a small business with a small budget - but we wanted a system that would still let us think BIG! The setup fee was within for our budget, and the monthly fee is very reasonable. …
Chose GreenRope
I looked into both of the programs mentioned above and I truly appreciate the initial costs and training of GreenRope - the program is in my personal opinion much stronger that either of the two mentioned above and less threatening to get started with.

Much easier to use. I can do it myself and don't have to use experts. Finally the cost is perfect for my start up.

Chose Sage CRM
Salesforce didn't have the integration we needed in Sage CRM. The number of dollars spent on hiring developers or buying a product, in addition to the licensing for Salesforce itself put it out of reach.
Chose Sage CRM
I used Salesforce in the past which does almost everything as Sage CRM, but typically it's a bit expensive. It also lacks the advanced web interface and did not suit well with other software.
Chose Sage CRM
I have looked at and used both Salesforce and Maximizer in the past. Salesforce offer similar functionality to Sage CRM at much higher price typically. Maximer has less funtionality and because of its on premise background lacks the advanced web interface of Sage CRM.
Chose Sage CRM
I like that it is web based and it can be used remotely but the reporting of data needs some work.
Chose Sage CRM
I have a preference for Salesforce.com because of the app exchange that they have. Sage CRM is more on par with Oracle CRM and Netsuite CRM. Oracle CRM is the most similar with the dual options of on-premise and cloud based solutions. I am mostly working with Salesforce.com …

The price point and full featured application of GreenRope makes it perfect for small and medium sized businesses. GreenRope is an excellent alternative to some of the higher priced, better known CRM systems (Infusionsoft, AWeber, Ontraport, etc.). If you have specific requirements for your industry or business, GreenRope support will help to ensure that you get set up properly with what you need

as it is a very flexible software that can be adapted to any business model, other functions human resource management, manufacturing and supply chain planning, all these functions are housed in a highly technological interface. Pros
  • Easy to get going with. They were great help in importing data from infusion soft. Great people to work with in training.
  • Low cost. This program is affordable for us little guys. Does what you need. Cost less than half of infusion soft for more.
  • Powerful. It lets me do all the things that I want. They are responsive to new feature requests too. When you make a suggestion you feel like it is heard and appreciated.

  • Sage CRM is very intuitive and easy to use. The benefit to organizations using this system is that users will find executing daily tasks seamless and accessing historical information easily while selling or servicing customers and prospects.
  • The dashboards and reporting are extensive at both a global and a client level. In addition, these reports and dashboards are available through any interface (smartphone, tablet, browser). This makes accessing real time information in a meaningful way available to users easy through any device wherever the user is located.
  • Escalations and workflow are also very powerful. Sage CRM uniquely provides the ability for users to execute workflow from within the context of the dashboards. What this means is that every day tasks can be executed quickly without lots of time searching through client records.

Cons
  • The only thing I can say is that it has so many features that I do not think I have had the time to use and evaluate. I think I am probably missing out of a lot of great features.
  • GreenRope has many email templates but seem to be directed to specific industries like retail, restaurants, etc. Would like to see more email templates.

  • Reliance on Apache Tomcat causes a lot of headaches. There are common issues trying to start up the server, resulting from Apache Tomcat misconfigurations, or Java. Some forum posts on Sage City address common issues, but digging into server logs seems to be an often occurrence.
  • Support is somewhat lacking, less user install base means error messages are sometimes hard to find quick answers for. Most of the knowledge found on the internet is in the Sage City forum.
  • Integration with Microsoft 365 causes you to have to turn off some security features. This will result in your 365 tenants running lower security standards than recommended, it may put you at risk for targeted attacks.

They have monthly renewals, so at any time you can cancel and not feel like they are holding your money. Their customer support is easy to work with. Their ticketing system to communicate with you about service issues is fantastic(which is included in the monthly fee) allows you to track issues. We use the ticketing system and add it to our website. This gives people the ability to communicate with us 24/7.

There are really no other words to say, it is a very easy to use application that is more straightforward and has provided better results with the bulk of features that appeal to a very broad amount of users. There may be other CRM platforms out there that are more prevalent, but I have found them to be much more clunky and less intuitive than Sage CRM.

Usability
It takes time to learn this system. It is not going to happen over night, but once you master it it will be worth it. I am already seeing some great results, all I have to do is keep learning.

Excellent integration with the most important social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter) to get leads. The mobile app is quite useful for speeding up the tasks at hand and not relying on the computer or being in the office to get them done.

Sage works very quickly based on the network you are using it on. It is internet based so if your network is slow, it will perform slowly. Reports seem to run reasonably fast, if there is too much information it is trying to populate that could slow it down a little. When Sage CRM is integrated with a Sage ERP product it doesn't tend to slow down either system at all

Many times I have to repeat the issue several times before the person understands correctly. There was also an instant where support was not available when help was needed, had to wait for a response and it was a business day.

I think there are some cheat sheets and best practises lists that could be created that would save a business a lot of time and frustration. BUT, even as it is, the frustrations and challenges disappear as things start working. I am going to be offering up a few of the tricks I have learned to the team at GreenRope to share with other users because when customers offer valuable work arounds that they find helpful to others, we accomplish a few things. The coders get an idea of things that aren't working quite as expected so they can look into fixes, other customers get benefit and we all win

The implementation and upgrades were rather quick and straight forward. Attempting to link Sage CRM with Sage 100 ERP however was a nightmare and will be avoided by us in the future due to numerous issues.

I use Edgar to schedule my social media only because it allows me to keep a library of posts -- otherwise, GreenRope replaces HootSuite. Outlook integrates (and RingCentral will soon). My business is too big to not have separate accounting (Xero) but GreenRope would be adequate for solos. GreenRope reduced my software quite a bit. It replaced Zoho, Infusionsoft, Mail Chimp, Access, Wufoo, Basecamp and InstantCustomer. It's not a great project management software, but it serves my needs for managing the pre-engagement process and nurture processes. GreenRope is best as a CRM and it forms a central part of my overall business technology machine.

  • GR has made our company much more organized from client details/history, sales work flow, email campaigns, website tracking and lead conversions.
  • We have grown our business 60% in the last 12 months. GR definitely helped us reach that growth.
  • Prior to GR we did everything the old fashioned way. I don't have anything to compare it to because we had no prior experience with another CRM provider. I can say that I am truly happy with our progress in GR and learning the program was pretty easy.
