Likelihood to Recommend HireVue was very well suited for my interviewing process with my current company for both my initial hire and my lateral move within the organization. It was very convenient given where I am geographically located to interview with our corporate office in Rhode Island. It provided the convenience of interviewing remotely for the opening posted.
Read full review SterlingOne has had my background check in progress for nearly a month. I spoke with them 5 days ago about the issue and discovered there was a criminal record flag in Connecticut. I have never been to Connecticut. They said this can often happen if an individual has the same name, birthday, or last four digits of SSN. This is clearly a flaw in their system if someone with the same name or birthday can appear on the same background check. I feel bad for any John Smith who applies for a job with a company that uses SterlingOne, they'll never get past the screening. Not only is this a flawed system, but when I spoke with customer service about this, they guaranteed they would expedite this within 24-48 hours. It has now been 5 days and when I called back, they said they would expedite this as if I had never called in the first place. I have been through numerous background checks for work in my life, I have done live scans and had my fingerprints taken, and have been approved to work with children with special needs (which requires a very rigorous screening) and I have never experienced such a disjointed and unprofessional process.
Read full review Pros It allows candidates to be recorded answering some initial interview questions and eliminates the need for recruiters or hiring manager to get on the phone or meet with them live. It stores the video interviews in a manner that is easy to do, use, and recover. It's also great to be able to record these interviews and then they can be shared with others on the team as needed for panel interview purposes, etc. Read full review The initiation of a background check is very simple by only needing the name and email of the new candidate and submitting that as the new ticket. Sterling communicates with the new candidate to keep the background check moving which saves us time by not needing to keep a close eye on the process of the background check. Sterling communicates with the employer to let them know if additional charges are needed to run the background check and we can either approve or deny the charge. Read full review Cons We have experienced some technical issues with the Live Interview feature. A lot of time it is because the user's computer settings are not set up correctly. They are working on adding a feature that will allow you to edit the email templates. Hoping for this to be released soon as it is nice to have different communications sent out for different cites around the globe. Customized CodeVues can be difficult to set up. Recommend having a technical employee help out with this. Would like to see more CodeVue questions added to the Question Library. Read full review Support Rating Sterling Talent is an excellent company for performing the background checks for our new hires. However, the delay in processing times can be improved. Also, there should be automation from legacy systems to pick up the candidate details as much as possible instead of asking for more details from the candidate via email. Read full review Alternatives Considered Gray Peak doesn't even compare to HireVue. Where I think Gray Peak is a 2 or 3 out of 10, I am absolutely convinced that HireVue is a 10! Yes there are probably some tweaks for HireVue but this product is truly amazing. It impresses me each day with the volume that we are able to put through and how it is a complete convenience for ALL parties involved in the process

Read full review Return on Investment Time to fill has been reduced/ shortened since we are able to screen more candidates quicker. Time to schedule has been shortened as candidates are able to self-schedule their own interviews with a hiring manager; no more chasing people through phone calls to coordinate multiple schedules. Candidate reach has been greatly enhanced - we can reach more candidates than we ever could with traditional phone screening.
