Not listed- though Athena is much preferred compared to past systems used.
Chose athenaClinicals
For a surgery center application, it is much better to use a system that is uniquely designed for surgery centers. Using Athena as a less than desirable work around has been a frustrating experience.
Chose athenaClinicals
Greenway was absolutely horrible. Not intuitive, no right-click functionality, poor integration, and flexibility. athenaClinicals surpasses it in every aspect.
Chose athenaClinicals
They have the same very similar capabilities. They have a quality measures icon and a great dashboard to help close gaps in care. Centricity does not have those features in this current version.
Chose athenaClinicals

I was not the one that selected the program but we all voted as a group and the CEO made the decision. We actually voted to do more research because of the expense of the program.

It is easy to use and to learn with many available templates. We are in psychiatry and there were …

Chose athenaClinicals
eCW allows for customization on the provider level whereas athenaClinicals requires standardization by specialty. Meaningful Use and other quality programs are more challenging on eCW. eCW templates are quite different looking from those that are in athenaClinicals and the flow …
Chose athenaClinicals
Again, I would recommend Athena second on this list...and it's all practice specific. If a practice can afford Athena, then it's an ok system...but do not expect an intuitive system such as Cerner that can be fully customized and follows a physician workflow better.
Chose athenaClinicals
athenahealth is more user friendly. There customer service center does not leave you without an answer. The reports can be built to each managers specific needs and the gathering of data from the EMR is fast. WOW!
Intergy EHR
Chose Intergy EHR
I do really like the easy-to-navigate design of Intergy. I also love the support tickets and the really quick responses. I also, again, love the customizable features each user can set to benefit them specifically. This has been really helpful to set up and onboard our new …
Chose Intergy EHR
Intergy is definitely not at the same level as Epic or Cerner. In Epic if you dream it - you can build it. It is definitely not something I can do within Intergy.
Chose Intergy EHR
The office already has Intergy in place when I was hired. I found this software extremely easy to relate to and move around in.
Chose Intergy EHR
We used Practice Partners in the past. They were no longer updating their products. Intergy is always looking for ways and feedback for improvements.
Chose Intergy EHR
Other systems we have reviewed had some fancier features, but lacked the reporting needs of practices we have worked with. Being able to dig into all of the financial and clinical data to a very deep level was what made Intergy the best choice. The financial flexibility could …
Chose Intergy EHR
My doctors liked Intergy better. Athena is great for the front staff and the nurses. In Intergy, those staff members have more to do, and it's less automated. That being said, I would rather the doctors be happy and the staff do more tasks.
Chose Intergy EHR
One of the most compelling features of Athena, in my opinion, is the investment and commitment to pushing boundaries with product development. This presents a downfall, however, in that constant changes to the software can frustrate users and waste time relearning the platform. …
Chose Intergy EHR
Allscripts is a good product, but Intergy's on-premises\ solution was a better fit for us due to security and oversight.
Chose Intergy EHR

Medical Manager as a product was tried and true. It did not provide an easy interface. When a user who is not tech savvy started to use it was a big learning curve. One thing about Intergy was that it has a more intuitive interface, you get to use the mouse and make selections …

Chose Intergy EHR
As a clinic, we briefly looked at switching to the Athena suite, but ultimately decided against it because of the relationship we have with our billing department. While Athena, from the surface, appears to be a no-brainer, as a clinic we were not ready to take on the whole …
Chose Intergy EHR
I am not the office manager so I cannot tell why she chose to use Intergy EHR. I personally like Intergy EHR because it allows me to use it with Intergy EMR and track patients very fast and it saves the office a lot of time. If something goes wrong, someone can just call …
Chose Intergy EHR
We moved from Intergy to athenaCollector and athenaClinicals. Athena is cloud-based, meaning we can access it from any location that has internet. My staff misses the ease of scheduling in Intergy, but the accountability of users' productivity is amazing. We had more control …
Chose Intergy EHR
Intergy was already selected when I became employed with the office. I much prefer EPIC, but I also realize EPIC is geared towards a much larger facility then what we have.

athenaClinicals is well suited from a single physician office to an enterprise healthcare system. The only specialty that they cannot cover is oncology that includes chemotherapy infusions (the dosing is very complicated and requires a specific oncology system).

It worked quite well in the dermatology/plastic surgery clinic. In fact, until I moved into the administrative/finance department of this neurosurgery clinic, I had no complaints whatsoever about Intergy. The process for end users is very intuitive and free-flowing. On the management side of things, however, it's difficult to track or prove audit trails.

Pros
  • Athena is able to create a medication list from the patient's pharmacy purchase history. This aides in compiling a comprehensive list quickly, especially when the patients do not know what meds they are on. The downside to this module is that every time that you add a medication that is not on the list, it turns it into an order that the provider needs to sign. There are many times that you need to make an addition, that the provider does not want to sign as an order.
  • The patient history module is easy to configure to meet the needs of the organization.

  • Health Reminders- for different patient needs or preventive care/screenings. For example patients who have a diagnosis of Diabetes- their health reminders will show if they need an A1c, foot exam, eye exam, etc. and when it was last performed
  • Orders Tracking- This helps nursing staff make notes on referrals or orders and they are able to look at the order tracking section for all patients and filter it by provider, order type, status, etc. to know what needs to be followed up on or what has been completed and so forth...
  • Tasks- This is a nice feature that has many different options for use. It can be used internally to send a quick message to another user, a phone message, billing message, and any task gives you the option to make it "patient related" if necessary. It can be used by the providers when they make an order they can then send it to the nurse to complete. Lots of different ways for Tasks to be used

Cons
  • The cost is very high compared to other programs.
  • Some people find the program difficult to learn.
  • The billing software requires more work than is described when they are trying to sell you the program.
  • The sales staff that we dealt with had the vibe of car salesmen. At times very pushy and the room for negotiation grew at each interaction. The high cost first quoted is very negotiable but they "up charge" for many things.

  • Missing cloud-based services for data storage.
  • It is Windows based. It needs to be updated to offer an Apple and iPad function with speech to text and Apple Pencil type functions.
  • Updates for meds and pharmacies should be made monthly not quarterly.

Overall the system is good. Actually, this was supposed to be the universal EMR when it came out during the Bush administration.

Usually they are very helpful. I would prefer they do some of the actual changes I am requesting instead of having me do the work. I feel that they could walk you through it, instead of letting you figure out the desired results on your own.

Greenway was absolutely horrible. Not intuitive, no right-click functionality, poor integration, and flexibility. athenaClinicals surpasses it in every aspect.
WoundExpert was well suited to wound healing and hyperbaric medical practices. If athenaClinicals had the right forms and ability to accommodate wound care and HBO workflows, it would be a good competitor.

  • Intergy has had a positive ROI. The financial tracking and tools have been easy to use and helped recover additional monies for practices.
  • Claim Tracker allows practices to have a real time view of all unpaid claims.
  • The E&M calculator helps providers choose the appropriate code for billing compliance.
