Likelihood to Recommend Kintone is great if you want a software that will help you in managing your data, and keep track of which tasks are assigned to whom. It also helps to streamline communication and information in one central place. However, it is not for you if you are looking for something complex that has to manage a lot of data.
Read full review Well suited to on the fly questions and project notifications from other systems. Also well suited to keeping a record of discussions and ensuring those who aren't available in the moment can still see everything in the channels so they keep apprised of project details/discussions. It's not really great for when you need to sit down and demo something and brainstorm, but it can be used to note a summary for everyone on the project with the results of brainstorming sessions.
Read full review Pros Flexibility. You can build apps (without coding) to serve a wide range of processes and projects. Ease of use. The interface is intuitive. Training. There are resources readily available to train new users. Even starting from scratch, I felt like I was up to speed in just a few hours. Read full review Can create channels for small, medium, or even bigger team to relay important information/updates and whatnots. You can do one-on-one (huddle feature) if you're on-boarding a member. A platform that can be collaborated with other platform. Example a CRM to be linked with Slack for easier comms relay. The best feature for me so far is that you can mention a team member so he/she won't missed an important message you sent. You can directly message about anyone within the company. Read full review Cons I feel that Kintone is not well enough known yet. This means that other apps/APIs are not necessarily easy to connect with Kintone. Yes, you can use Zapier though for interfacing with other apps. It would be great if it could give more customized options to change the look and format of certain things. You can make price quote apps, for example, but have to rely on 3rd party apps or programming skills to customize the look and fields. If you make a table as an input field, it cannot connect to other internal Kintone apps for lookups and such. I think there is more potential to make more customized data graphs. Read full review Undoubtedly Slack’s search function is powerful but sometimes it is difficult to find specific messages or files in very active channels with high message volumes. This needs an improvement. I have experienced notification issues on my phone. I am not receiving notifications and have missed important updates as a result. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem still persists. The Business Plus plan does not include support for data loss prevention or offline backup providers. Read full review Likelihood to Renew I still think that there's a room for Kintone's future, and high expectations for them in additional features and innovative tools and supports. Truly hope that they will support email features, and standardized supports for various plug-ins with the 3rd party software and apps. In the meantime, we will have to consider our ways of doing our work in all aspects
Read full review Slack is wonderful, it is a tool that changed our perspective and our way to work. We used to use another one, which was purely and sorely designed to messages. Slack provides us that possibility and more, all the other functions that we daily use in our work routine, not to mention the fact that Slack has a wonderful design and it's really easy to use and adapt.
Read full review Usability Kintone is agile app and most of the time we can easily come up with new apps. However, there should be more feature-based drag and drop and or a visual-based usability, as we all want to minimize the number of clicks and dropdown menu selections as much as possible. Thanks.
Read full review Applications can cause slowdown when onboarding because of the learning curve. Slack is user friendly and very easy to teach new users how to navigate the app. Installation is fairly quick, which also saves a lot of time when setting up new computers and users
Read full review Reliability and Availability Never had an issue with this.
Read full review Yes, the app works 24/7. I don't even recall having any period that we could not use since the implementation. Even the maintenance periods are barely noticeable and our work is not impacted by it when it happens.
Read full review Performance No issues.
Read full review Slack is a soft app, we don't have many issues with it. I recall one or two people complaining about something during our usage period, but I didn't have a bad experience. When the app is slow, usually the problem is with my computer or my internet. The app works just fine.
Read full review Support Rating I have had very specific questions about different aspects of the software, and I have always been able to get a hold of someone who could help. If my sales rep didn’t know the answer, he would get me in touch with someone who did know the answer. The whole team is very ready to help. It definitely feels like they view my success as their success, which is so important with this type of software.
Read full review I've never had to contact support for Slack which is a great testament to its ease and use. Adding people outside of the organization takes a little getting used to, but ultimately allows for greater collaboration between FTE and contractors. There is no clear alternative to this software, so it's the best we can do for now.
Read full review Implementation Rating Everyone has their own tastes of things and way they want to work. Asking them to adapt to the changes with the new tools or apps is always difficult. We would want to start with a very small but best example within the organization, which in our case was that the employees will not be bothered by the bosses by being asked to find the documents, status of the progresses, or major things/requests/projects.
Read full review It always helps if you communicate to everyone in the organization how important it is to drop whatever other chat tools they are using and jump quickly to Slack. They will all fall in love with it.
Read full review Alternatives Considered Kintone is the easiest product to create from and the cost is the lowest I believe. In addition, reconfigurability and extendability are great. If you look for a low code tool, you can try Kintone. But as same as another low code tool, don't expect too much.
Read full review It was too email centric - you get too many emails telling you to go there, so it seemed inefficient. There wasn't enough non-project functionality so it was never really "always open" for people the way Slack is, it just felt like an extra thing to do, rather than a tool that was truly integrated into our workday.
Read full review Contract Terms and Pricing Model Should be multiple pricing packages.
Read full review Scalability I could see this work for all departments if implemented correctly.
Read full review Professional Services Needed improvement at the time.
Read full review Return on Investment It has helped us reduce the amount of people we need to track our inventory. We’ve saved time and money using less people. We are able to see our data much better now and have a spot that we can all look at the database on the go. Read full review When looking at whether to invest in Slack vs. Microsoft Teams, I always recommend Slack. Slack's interface is a lot easier to learn and is more user-friendly. I would recommend Slack, no matter the price tag, the ease of communication and making announcements for our team is priceless. From little things to "there's pizza in the break room!" to important updates for the whole team, it truly makes communication very easy and frequent. If you have a lot of team members who are remote, Slack is invaluable. It's more personal and lighthearted than emailing and quicker. Read full review ScreenShots
