Overall Satisfaction with Slack

For my 2 years and continued use, slack has been delivering an excellent team collaboration. Meaning, it don't just provide our team a good communication platform but it also worked as a platform for helping our team members (team collaboration). Slack has feature where we can create a channel to organize different teams within the company. We can create a channel where we can post help for correct workflows for better customer experience, create a channel for bugs, or even a channel for we call it "lounge" for everyone to socialize even if you're in the other corner of the world. We can also monitor CSATs by marking the text "feeling-swell" another channel dedicated for noteworthy text from customers so our other team can send followups for checking customer satisfaction (cx support via chat/email). There's none that I can think of if you're looking for the best platform for team communication and collaboration. Slack is the key for a successful company that's operating online.

Pros

  • Can create channels for small, medium, or even bigger team to relay important information/updates and whatnots.
  • You can do one-on-one (huddle feature) if you're on-boarding a member.
  • A platform that can be collaborated with other platform. Example a CRM to be linked with Slack for easier comms relay.
  • The best feature for me so far is that you can mention a team member so he/she won't missed an important message you sent.
  • You can directly message about anyone within the company.

Cons

  • I can't think of any detailed examples of areas where Slack has room for improvement.
  • Everything that I currently use has been working well for me.
  • All feature has been working well for me.
  • As mentioned, team communication/collaboration has been key to a successful company. This is a positive impact.
  • Second, delivering important messages within the company. This should also contribute to a positive ROI as this affects effectivity that the communication has been received by everyone or for specific people within the company.
  • Third, using the features such as "huddle" can resolve working with a low performing member of a team or team discussions to make effective changes on offered service/s.
In 2 years (and still counting) of usage, I choose the maximum (10) as it provides me ease in its overall use. As mentioned in the previous questions, it is evident that the ease in overall usability has been demonstrated. Additionally, I used the platform on a daily basis and I can testify its ease especially on those features that I use everyday.
Every platform offers distinct ease of use. Slack has given me that, the other platform also offers different usage and has their limitation. Oftentimes, we use these platform depending on how it suits us. But mostly, Slack offers us features that suits mostly of our needs so we used it more often.

Using Slack

550 - It consists of products team, ops, cx support, escalation, and many more! As I have mentioned, we only create channels specific to our line of business. We have a channel called "lounge" where everybody is there interacting to some questions or happenings in the office. Some channel also consists of every employees pets. So, there's a lot.
I don't think we have these people who troubleshoots Slack when there's an issue. If there is, I'm sure its our software engineers or those specific people in our products team.
  • Team communication
  • Training
  • Updates on workflows
  • Integrate Slack to maximize communication
  • Ensure important updates have been relayed
  • Help channels for different type of support within the organization
  • Set up coaching sessions via huddle
  • Maximize the usage of Slack features
  • Continue to integrate up-to-date apps to Slack
To be more transparent, I give 10 because Slack serves our collaboration needs. It provide us a good platform for team communication relaying important update within the company, it has even mobile app where you can install in your phone to monitor any updates within that team that needs your immediate attention and intervention.

Evaluating Slack and Competitors

  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
One thing to consider especially on a company setup is the ease of use for any platform. Any app should have this so everyone can easily use with minimal time to adjust. Integration with other systems plays vital role as well since this platform is only for internal purposes relaying important communication.
It would be the same. Ease of use should be one important determining factor. Since everybody has different preferences and not all is tech-savvy. An app that is easy to use, especially in a company setup is very important. The client that we're working with keeps on updating workflows so it is very important that accessing easily the platform for communication comes in handy.
