Likelihood to Recommend Malwarebytes is definitely one of the top contenders in its field. As with any corporate software, there are headaches all along the way -- from implementation to daily use and support. And cost is also a factor. Although not inexpensive, Malwarebytes is comparable to its close competitors. Overall, the quality of the product shines through, and it does what it's intended to do...protect!

The software tends to do a good job of basic protection but is not the best for larger clients and is not as powerful as some others offered on the market today. The support is not the best either, have had a hard time getting assistance in the past trying to resolve issues.
Read full review Pros Low system resources, it does not slow down the whole computer when scanning or when real-time protection is enabled Quick and frequent updates, usually people hate updating, but for malware/viruses, you want to be updated as possible. It takes less than 15 seconds and usually does it automatically. They usually send a few updates a day as they find more. Protection features actually work when visiting known bad websites. The page will be blocked and nothing will be downloaded. It may not be what the user wants, but it's what the user needs (as the user can't know every bad website) Read full review Webroot, an OpenText company
It is very light weight and does not tax the computers resources Has a quick scan and does not take forevere when scanning It's central management on the web makes it easy to use and gives tons of control for Admins Read full review Cons One of the main things that malwarebytes is missing as a company, is phone support for its clients. All support questions has to go thru email only. This is not acceptable for issues that needs to be resolved quickly. There is an issue when installing the client on a machine, it has a set amount of time where the software can register with the management server. The issue with this is, with machines that are over a wide area network, slow connection speeds can cause the software not to register. When that happens, it never re attempts to register in the future. Read full review Webroot, an OpenText company
There are several configuration options for both end-point and DNS protection. Would like a more simple way to understand and validate settings. Support is heavily video or FAQ based although you can submit a Support Ticket. Would like more availability to an actual support engineer. Overtime you can forget how to change setting - a refresher course would be nice, especially as new features are added to the solution. Plus the cost savings impact year after year.

It has proven successful so far in our environment for controlling malware/virus outbreaks.
Read full review Usability When you have a product that does the job that it describes or advertises, you have to love it. While the malware posture is always changing, we depend on products that we pay for year after year to protect us from threats, both known and unknown. I give this rating because Malwarebytes just works and you don't have to worry whether it is going to beat up other programs on your systems.

Like I said before, sometimes I can't find what I need to change a setting.
Read full review Support Rating I honestly haven't needed support for Malwarebytes because I haven't had any problems with it, whatsoever. I am giving it a 9 rating because I haven't actually had an encounter or experience with customer service or support, so it's hard to rate the actual support team since I've never had the privilege of coming into contact with them.

Support has been reliable up to this point. A request can easily be generated via the console and support responding in a reasonable time. We have not had any major issues other than the basic agents not communicating with the console and the like.

I had some difficulties with remote users. I ended up needing to open a remote tech support session and finish the process. Other than a few speed bumps, I was impressed with the engineering of the install. Because of time differences, I was done installing in two days. The cost, per license, could be less.
Read full review Alternatives Considered Avast and Norton's products were part of the testing for us but the cost was very high for them and the products were not light on the machine. They took up a lot of memory and slowed the computers down. Malwarebytes although may lack some feature, is a very light software.

We found other products to be able to detect malware and malicious URL's better than Webroot Endpoint Protection. Thus, we moved away from Webroot Endpoint Protection. Also, over the years, there were at least 2 big mistakes by Webroot, where our business applications were flagged as malicious as a false positive. Webroot did a public apology, but those mistakes were highly disruptive.

The licenses are pretty expensive but less costly than an actual malware infestation. We have tremendous peace of mind knowing that our machines and communications are secure. Our IT consultants are a little more involved in day-to-day management than they were before deploying Webroot Endpoint Protection, which means an increase in cost, but again this is a fair price to pay for protection against Internet threats.
