One of the best tools for small team wiki/collaboration site. After setting things up in a day, there was almost no learning curve for the users. Not the best solution for bigger teams though. Because of the mobile apps, the user can be productive while on the move too! Desktop and web version are working fine.

ZenHub

If you have more than 2 developers this thing is basically a requirement within github to manage sprints if you use agile methodology. Why use a different website entirely when you can run your entire board right from github itself? I've tried other solutions but basing everything on github issues makes it so no duplicate work has to take place. If the UX quirks and mobile were fixed this would be 10/10 for me!If you're only one or two devs on a team it may be overkill to use, but if you're going to scale it's better to put the process in early.

  • Clean simple interface where users can onboard quickly and get to documenting - no "plugins" that the user has to learn to use.
  • Great structuring method which shows on the left-hand side allowing the user to drag-n-drop items in the hierarchy where they are needed quickly.
  • Ability to view history to see changes and export content into word and PDF formats.
  • Great search interface that quickly shows the results using auto-complete in keeping with the clean interface.

  • The software seems to at times have hiccups, and is not accessible
  • The software sometimes throws errors that it can't do something, or save, and you can't determine why, and typically need to start over
  • The admin type functions/entering values, codes, projects, releases, those sorts of things, do not seem to be logically located

ZenHub is one of the best GitHub repo-management software integrating the usage of work-boards and task management, with the ability to integrate several team members to the work table. This method makes the team more organized since everyone can keep track of their time and tasks of themselves and also others, so you can see how fast your teammates are working or if they need any help with something they're working on.

Support is good, but quite honestly, I haven't needed any support since 2015. As I remember, I was required to open a ticket and had to wait a few days for resolution. I give it a rating of 8 because of the lag in getting a solid resolution, but it was resolved adequately.

Nuclino

Nuclino is the clear winner when it comes to ease of use for both the administrator and user. Less setup time and less "training" time. The streamlined interface is quick and intuitive to learn and is not cluttered as compared to Confluence. Every tool you need to use to create a page or administer the workspace is available immediately on screen or by right-clicking. In contrast, Confluence buries many tools in administrative interfaces and only allows use of some features once you make several clicks to include a "macro" or "plug-in". We use both tools and I get complaints constantly from my team about how complicated Confluence can get just to author a quick page.

I have used Workfront in the past, which in my experience, is best with a traditional waterfall methodology, similar to Microsoft Project and the other more traditional project management software projects. ZenHub is truly designed around the agile methodology. Other products that claim they are agile oriented seem to just be adjusting and tweaking their traditional product to include a few agile features.

  • Having a central documentation allowed users to find data more quickly, which resulted in 50% less "question" type bugs that would appear in our queue.
  • Collaborating documentation before development resulted in less bugs; this is part process but the ease of sharing and making related documentation easy to access encouraged users into adapting the process.
  • Increased use in documentation allows support response time to be higher for triage since supporting documentation is ready to go.
