I personally have used ADP before, but that was just as a user, not as a manager supporting other users. So really, my experience is primarily with Paycom.
Chose Paycom
I haven't used a whole lot, but I would say the only other one would be Blackbaud. Where I came from before, we used Blackbaud as our payroll provider, and Paycom is so much more user-friendly. Once we moved to Paycom, and then where I'm at now, we used ADP and also switched. …
Chose Paycom
The user-friendliness of Paycom really stands out. Employees seem to have an easier time logging in and getting to what they need, whereas I've heard ADP can be a little trickier and that some users have experienced login issues. With Paycom, everything is very straightforward. …
Chose Paycom
I'm not part of the evaluation team, but from an HR perspective, we've used UKG, and that was really the main system before Paycom. Prior to that, we used a system that doesn't even exist anymore. Paycom is much more intuitive and user-friendly, and the capabilities are on a …
Chose Paycom
I like Paycom more than ADP. ADP is a little more difficult to navigate, whereas Paycom has a more straightforward and intuitive navigation system.
Chose Paycom
Oracle has an HRIS. They have an HR, finance, IT, everything-in-one type of platform, and there's an HR functionality part of it. It's really good. I've used PeopleSoft, which is more of a database type and doesn't have as many functions as Paycom. We went through a very …
Chose Paycom
Nothing really compares. I've used StaffConnect before to check in, but they don't necessarily have an app, and it's only web-based. I haven't been able to find an app or anything. And again, it's just not my favorite because it also does it by GPS location. And I'll be at work …
Chose Paycom
We were initially Paycor customers for our recruiting, and we used ADP for payroll previously. Paycom was an all-inclusive solution. And I do know that ADP and Paycor now have solutions, but at the time, they didn’t have what we wanted for the flexibility, the price, and really …
Chose Paycom
PeopleSoft and Tyler are pretty similar, with similar built in workflows, and extensive reporting systems. UKG has a lot of things that we like, but is more expensive.
Chose Paycom
I have not currently used any other products. I'm still kind of new to the HR industry. The only other thing that I really have to compare it to is Vonmar's system, which they created themselves, and it was not user-friendly.
Chose Paycom
Payroll. Unfortunately, with ADP, we're in the 21st century, and they still make me upload a spreadsheet when we do payroll. So a lot of room for mistakes, a lot of back and forth. None of that happens with Paycom. And Paychex, when I used, they were just coming out to the …
Chose Paycom
More centralized data. UKG didn't have as many, I guess, areas, or like the W2, it wasn't all in UKG. It's just that everything is more centralized than UKG and Paycom.
Chose Paycom
I've used PeopleSoft, and golly, ADP certainly evaluated Paylocity. That seems to be sort of a common competitor with Paycom, although I'm thinking they're kind of losing the battle, and Paycom's winning. We've also looked at Bamboo HR. BambooHR is great, but I think a solution …
Chose Paycom
We were on UKG before we switched to Paycom. I've been on ADP. I worked with Workday a little bit. So yeah, worked with a few of them. Right now, Paycom is the best. It's the best.
Chose Paycom
I appreciate the single database platform. Some of the other programs I have used in the past are not as intuitive or user-friendly. The reporting is accurate and timely. There isn't any confusion between the modules trying to communicate with one another. We also have …
Chose Paycom
Paycom was definitely number one. It definitely had a few aspects that were more advanced and the data security was a big deal for us, and that was very helpful.
Chose Paycom
Paycom is definitely better than all of those options because it has everything, including performance reviews. A lot of those systems are very limited.
Chose Paycom
Way better. We had to use a bunch of different programs that didn’t speak to each other, where Paycom is a one-stop shop.
Chose Paycom
When evaluating competitors, one of the decision points has been how seamless the experience is from login to each of the different modules. Many legacy providers have the same modules, but they are not seamless. They are "connected" behind the scenes and skinned to appear to …
Chose Paycom
Paycom just seemed more established and more user-friendly, which is one of the main things I was looking for.
Chose Paycom
Paylocity is completely segmented modules. Paycom is one system.

UKG Workforce Central advertises itself as a more complete system, and it is. The main area of need for us at the time was the ability to manage overtime on the fly. It does that well enough.

The integration with job boards is just OK. It could be better as it is not as fluid …
Chose UKG Workforce Central (discontinued)
In comparison to Kronos, UKG Workforce Central offers an enhanced user experience. Employees are notified of their schedules for the coming weeks. The system allows users to view the work schedule of others on their team for that day, making shift swapping more convenient.

Chose UKG Workforce Central (discontinued)
KRONOS is by far one of the best, if not THE best multi-faceted systems I have used. Right up there with ADP but slightly better for what I needed it for.
Chose UKG Workforce Central (discontinued)
Other than Kronos, I've only used Oracle Peoplesoft HCM for time and attendance. In comparing the two, I find that Kronos is far more high-end and busy and complicated, whereas PeopleSoft is simpler and to the point. With Kronos, there is some refining to do to it to get the …

Can't compare. Quickbooks was easy, but lacked functional reporting which is essential to manage employee time.

As I mentioned, the onboarding process is incredibly easy. We have around 300 employees and are constantly hiring, so Paycom has been a huge help. In fact, the ATS functionality was a major factor in our decision to switch to Paycom.

We use Kronos Workforce Central only for it's timekeeping and scheduling/forecasting capabilities. It absolutely meets our needs for these areas. The reporting functionality also serves us well; exporting reports in excel covers the needs for most teams that use the system. Finally, business leaders and local HR crews are able to run reports on the teams they support.

Pros
  • Paycom does a particularly good job of updating and taking in information. We have a rep named Alex Cisco, who I hear from two or three times a month. He’ll just want to drop by and say, “Hey, how’s the product working? Is there anything I can do to help you with the product? And by the way, do you know about this new feature?” If I have feedback, I give it to Alex, and if he doesn’t know how to fix it that day, he’ll take it to research and development, and we may see an answer for it a month or two down the road.

  • As a full service hospital there can be demands of staff to respond to high census or staffing shortages. Kronos has offered great utilization in floating hours between units and departments, identifying direct or indirect patient care hours, and ultimately offering analytics to clinical and operational leaders. This ability to specifically move hours while at work is exceptional for reporting and planning purposes across the organization.
  • The self-managed and leader managed options of an employee’s time card is of huge benefit. As a 24/7 hour operation it is critical that each individual is accountable for their own timekeeping. Kronos allows each employee to manage and submit adjustment, updates, and changes while at work without having to have their manager do it for them. The proceeding approval/acceptance process with these changes is well established and easy to authenticate.
  • The ability to access and navigate the user interface is very friendly and forgiving. Other systems can be quite cumbersome and hard to navigate, update, and easily change, but Kronos is pretty straight forward both for users and administrators. This ability to easily orient new team members and managers has been a great benefit to the organization.

Cons
  • One thing that we did come across recently is we were restructuring our organization chart and we did find that in order to update someone's job title, for example, we had to go into two different places, not just the employees page. We had to go into a different function as well and it took up a lot of time.

  • Training required to use the product effectively, not simple at first
  • Dependent on Java, frequent updates to Java necessary to continue using the Kronos platform
  • Reporting tools are extensive and solid, though some reports can only be extracted in PDF, not in the more usable Excel format. How Kronos determines which can be extracted in Excel vs. PDF, I can't tell.

we are having no problems with how the system works and our support system at paycom is the best - we are learning more and using the system in more ways all the time the only thing that could be better is pricing on some things

Now that the system is installed and operational, the "pain is gone"...therefore we see no reason to change to a different application. There is no functionality that is missing from the system that would drive us to consider another solution at this time. Maintenance support from Kronos is sufficient and updates occur regularly.

Usability
Because it's very easy to use. It's web-based, and you can use it on your cell phone; you can do everything that you do on your laptop on your cell phone, which is unheard of. I haven't heard of other companies being able to do that.

Support Rating
In 6 years, we've never had a bad experience with client support. We implemented during COVID, and I was the only person in HR at the time. I was also having to homeschool our children, which meant bizarre work hours and limited time to focus on platform build at times. There were nights that I was literally on calls at 11 pm and the implementation team was unbelievably supportive. Recently, a Position Seat specialist came on site to help us set up for our 5 client codes - the experience was transformative for how we use the platform and an absolute game changer. I trust Paycom because I trust our representatives. They truly are strategic partners for us, and work to ensure we're maximizing the platform and that our needs are being met

We looked this product first and actually started the conversion process before we realized it could not do some essential functions we needed. One of the simple ones was allowing for employees to select to clock in or out and not just assume the direction based on their schedule or last punch. With bus drivers working multiple routes or shifts this was imperative that they be able to select this as while they may forget one punch being able to select the direction helps identify where the missing punches are. I'm hoping this has since been corrected because it absolutely floored me that such a relatively simple thing was not an option.

  • I would say the impact has been positive. Everything I've needed to do for my job has been available within the system, and if there was ever something I couldn't figure out, I could reach out to customer service, and they would help me. Personally, I haven't had any issues with it.

  • Kronos is much more expensive than the previous systems we were using, so at this point the ROI is negative. The idea is that it will allow us to scale and grow the company more easily so time will tell if that is the case.
