Open edX is a learning management system developed by MIT and Harvard, and available for use by universities and companies. Aulasneo states the typical use case for their managed service includes institutions that want to implement a virtual campus or e-learning platform to bring their users an outstanding on-line learning experience. They further state customers include universities and educational institutions of any size, companies that need to train internal employees or business partners, governments and NGOs that need to distribute knowledge to their target communities.
