From 5 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM has demonstrated a generally positive impact on business objectives, particularly in enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs, as reported by three of five reviewers. The system has been credited with streamlining critical HR functions, leading to tangible benefits such as easier new hire onboarding and reduced employee turnover. Furthermore, it contributes to significant time savings by consolidating data from disparate systems and has helped organizations optimize their workforce by reducing full-time equivalent (FTE) counts. Two reviewers also highlighted the system's robust capabilities in managing employee data and providing detailed insights, which supports informed decision-making. However, the user experience presents a mixed picture. While some reviewers found the system easy to implement, a similar number of reviewers indicated that its non-intuitive user interface often necessitates extensive training, which could impact the overall return on investment by increasing implementation and adoption costs.

The platform functions as a centralized hub for managing critical employee information, encompassing personally identifiable data, banking details, job-related specifics, and leave accruals. A significant portion of the feedback highlights the system's user interface, with 3 of 5 reviewers noting that it remains dated and complex even with newer updates. This perceived complexity extends to the implementation process, which 3 of 5 reviewers described as costly, time-consuming, and particularly challenging when customizations are required. Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is probably one of the best on premise HCM syste. It is highly configurable and caters to exceptions very well and there is high scope of customization.
Main use cases it catered to are HR data management, employee movements and transactions and application security.
It has got better user interface of all the other on premise HCM products.

Pros

  • Core HR
  • Employee Transactions, Movements
  • Customizations
  • Application Security

Cons

  • Performance Managememnt
  • Merit and Compansation
  • Talent module

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is well suited for cases where in high customization is required in specialized industries where the standard features do not work. For example, manufacturing, industries where a lot of blue collar job employees are.
Less suited for tech related industries where more white collared employees are housed as talent module is not so strong in Oracle PeopleSoft HCM

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my current organization, we use Oracle PeopleSoft HCM for PII data, Banking details, Job Details and leave accruals. We've had an issue with hiring new employees and their data sometimes not feeding over. There is now an integration in place from SuccessFactors to our interface to process and insert a record in Job Data. If there are any errors, we can now manually correct it and reprocess the feed which eliminates the team from manually entering all PII and job information.

Pros

  • Track audit
  • Pulls data for queries
  • Customizable

Cons

  • Better interface so that there are less complex implementation and maintenance requirements
  • Better training on new functionality to users
  • Better legacy architecture so that it will not impact deployments

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is well suited if you have many customizations/exceptions where other systems you use in your organization can not accommodate. Examples are adding a new field or opening a page up for users in specific countries.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it for HR and Payroll. It is nice because it works with our accounting system as well, but we also have to use another database to export data, which is a little annoying. There are some kinks that could be worked out, but overall the system is pretty good and gives us what we need.

Pros

  • Employee Personal Information
  • Employee Benefits
  • Pay information

Cons

  • Updating payroll funding
  • Keeping personal information secure
  • additional queries for information needed

Likelihood to Recommend

It works good when we have staff that know how to properly use it. I do not think that it is a system problem, I think that the problem is that we have new staff or just various staff across our agency that use it and we dont all use it the same and also the staff who do use it do not know the ins and outs of it and that is the main problem.

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM - Still great, but...

Rating: 3 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is our main HR system. It is used to onboard new hires, as well as providing a feed to many other systems we use on a daily basis. We use Oracle PeopleSoft HCM to provide one location for HR-related business within the organization. This helps us bring down silos that existed before our implementation, integrating the HR system across multiple locations for easy access to all HR data.

Pros

  • On-boarding of new staff
  • Highly customizable
  • Very robust data points when used properly

Cons

  • User Interface, even under Fluid UI is still the same old tired Oracle PeopleSoft HCM
  • In my opinion, costs far too much for most enterprises to implement especially if any customization is needed
  • In my opinion it has gone downhill ever since Oracle acquired PeopleSoft - they have taken on the same mentality as Oracle which unfortunately took the PeopleSoft name down several notches for me personally

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is great for onboarding new hires. The process, including some newer direct entry features, has been streamlined and made more intuitive. However, there is a steep learning curve for those who are completely unfamiliar with enterprise systems as a whole. In my experience, Oracle PeopleSoft HCM's updates have historically failed to improve the intuitiveness of navigation and features even through a move to a SaaS configuration in the cloud. This makes it hard to train new HR staff because there may be five different ways to accomplish the same thing and none of them are intuitive enough to just "figure out". This has been a bone of contention for me for all Oracle products for my entire 20+ year career, and it has never been fully addressed.

Oracle HCM - The perfect solution to your day to day use in office

Rating: 9 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Here in my company, we use Oracle HCM on a daily basis. From onboard hiring to getting every details such as employment verification, salary etc. As for the information security tasks, that is also assigned to employees in the HCM tool. A time limit is also provided which helps the employees identify when to finish it. The tool also help monitor everything.

Pros

  • Employment verification letter to be provided to landlords, house loan everything.
  • HR related information like leave, payslips etc
  • Information security tasks such as confidentiality agreement, cyber awareness etc

Cons

  • I would say the layout, it can be made into a simpler and can look better
  • Include more tasks such has IT helpdesks. As we have a different tool for that
  • I wish if we had internal articles/documents within the tool

Likelihood to Recommend

In the current scenario, where most companies are still having their employees to work from home. I had a certain requirement for my home loan. I needed to provide an employment verification letter to the bank. This HCM tool did a perfect job in this case. I got the letter within seconds and that too with a digital signature. Everything worked out and the whole job was simpler.

PeopleSoft HCM review by Indian banking major

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It's been used across all users for my bank. PeopleSoft HCM is a superb product having all the human resources functionality. Also, the product is flexible enough to allow several customizations for complex business processes. Currently from new employee hire, career progression, exit and fill and final settlement - all [of these] activities are performed through PeopleSoft in my organization

Pros

  • Leave and Absence
  • Customizations
  • Payroll
  • Benefits administration

Cons

  • Look and feel
  • Alerts in mobile

Likelihood to Recommend

It's an enterprise-grade product best suited for absence, payroll, time and labour and all other HR functionalities. Any complex functionality can be built here as customization. But look and feel wise it's not [that] advanced. There could have been a feature for video, SMS or WhatsApp alerts which is missing currently.

Efficient and intuitive!

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

In my organization, it is used for time sheet tracking, leave management, employee information and manager actions. It is set up globally across all departments. Several thousand users use it for self help as well as administrative tasks. Both web and mobile versions of the interface have been enabled across the organization.

Pros

  • Mobile interface really helps complete tasks on the go.
  • Secure authentication.
  • Good workflow.
  • Fast performance.

Cons

  • Some issues in mobile compatibility.
  • Analytics could be better.
  • Navigation can be difficult for new user.

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM seems to be better suited for very large organizations that have several hundred employees, are geographically dispersed, each geo location may have individual country specific regulations and different HR rules. This software can be customized for different rules and specific needs and processes of the organization and sub organizations.

All encompassing HR software

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

  • Used system wide for employee management and record keeping.
  • Employee records are kept in Oracle PeopleSoft HCM, including job and benefits information. Additionally, we use it to process new hires, transfers, terminations, etc.
  • Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is also used to track job code information, including reports of incumbents, and a variety of queries such as equity, pay rates, etc.
  • Essentially, it is used for almost all HR related information.

Pros

  • Employee Self Service - links to tax, paycheck, time off information, etc.
  • Tracking job data - descriptions, pay ranges, reports for a specified job code.
  • Linking with integrated software, such as Kronos for timekeeping and vemo for workforce insight reports.

Cons

  • Updated User Interface - there is a lot of unused space.
  • More intuitive navigation, although the search feature helps offset some of that shortcoming.
  • Suggestions for useful links and reporting tools you may find helpful based on job title.

Likelihood to Recommend

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is great for tracking most HR related information. The customization for the company is great, as well as the ability to integrate with a wide variety of complimentary software. For example, ours is integrated with our ATS (Taleo) for recruiting, Kronos for timekeeping, and Vemo for workforce insight reports. Given it's overall ability, it is probably overkill for smaller companies that may want a more focused HRIS that can handle everything without the need to integrate with additional software.

Good integration options for HCM software

Rating: 6 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is used by the entire organization. It works as a self service platform for employees, assists with payroll processing, provides performance appraisal information, and is used by managers (like myself) to complete pay action requests. We also leverage Oracle PeopleSoft HCM's workforce administration, worklist, reporting components, and recruiting tools. It has a lot of capabilities that deliver value to our teams at an individual level as well as from a management standpoint.

Pros

  • Easy to use and learn
  • Good customer support
  • Ability to write custom reports for ongoing projects

Cons

  • The UI is a little antiquated
  • Somewhat expensive leveraging the app
  • Security concerns with recent vulnerabilities being exposed

Likelihood to Recommend

It is a software that I would recommend due to its implementation simplicity. This tool allows us to build custom business processes via a relatively smooth interface (if a little dated). We use Oracle PeopleSoft HCM for global HCM, NA payroll, benefits, and the application offers the ability to customize and is continuously evolving in the cloud. It integrates with other personal programming platforms. Integration is key. Reporting performance is excellent, as well.
