Ramp is a platform that offers users the ability to self-manage expenses and track budgets, allocations, and approvals. According to users, one of the main advantages of Ramp is its automation capabilities, which save them a significant amount of time. The platform is intuitive and easy to use for staff members, making it simple to create both physical and virtual corporate credit cards for business expenses. Users appreciate the automated expense matching with receipts, as it ensures compliance and reduces manual effort. They also receive text message reminders to add receipts after each transaction, improving receipt compliance and visibility. Additionally, Ramp enables users to issue and lock cards easily, providing both security and convenience. Temporary cards can be created for specific purposes, streamlining card management. The alerts and automated repeat expenses feature saves time for users by sending reminders and automating routine tasks. Furthermore, the upcoming feature that allows setting other managers to oversee team spending is highly anticipated by users. Overall, Ramp increases visibility into corporate card expenses and streamlines expense reimbursements, simplifying expense management for small teams. It provides convenient purchasing credit cards with good spending controls and reporting processes, making it a valuable solution for businesses seeking an easy-to-use expense management tool.

Ramp's platform also offers several benefits when it comes to tracking and monitoring spending. Users find that the system allows them to efficiently track recurring and one-time expenses while maintaining a better overall view of their financial activities. This has proven especially useful for finance teams, who can now track expenses by vendor using the virtual cards feature, gaining valuable insights in the process. Employees have quickly adapted to utilizing company cards through Ramp without the hassle of traditional expense reporting systems. The streamlined expense management process has been well-received by staff members who appreciate how it simplifies expense reporting and coding transactions. They report that Ramp reduces the time spent on expense reporting and bookkeeping while making it easy to implement within their workflow. Administrators also benefit from the platform, as it provides a zero-cost solution with higher rebates and a better overall view. With Ramp, they can efficiently monitor and manage expenses, ensuring responsible purchasing decisions across the organization. In summary, Ramp simplifies expense management, offers convenient purchasing options, and provides valuable insights into spending patterns for both employees and finance teams.

Flexibility in card options: Reviewers have appreciated the flexibility provided by the platform, such as allowing users to send employees physical Ramp cards and create as many virtual cards as needed. This feature has been highlighted by several users, providing them with different options to access and use their cards based on their preferences and needs.

Integration capabilities: Many reviewers found the integration capabilities of the platform to be beneficial. Specifically, they mentioned the integration with Amazon Business for matching receipts to spending transactions and the integration with Gmail for automatching receipts. These integrations have streamlined the expense tracking process for users, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

Easy setup of virtual cards: Users have found it easy to set up virtual cards on the platform, allowing them to quickly create and manage virtual cards for different purposes. This functionality has been praised by multiple reviewers, as it reduces manual effort and ensures accurate record-keeping for expenses through email receipt matching.

Integration Issues: Some users have experienced problems with the integration of Ramp and Xero, finding that it does not work as expected. They have encountered difficulties in setting up the integration and have found the settings and configurations to be unintuitive.

Expense Reporting Challenges: Several reviewers have expressed frustration with the expense reporting process on Ramp. They feel that there is a need for more integrations to reduce the time spent on reporting expenses for grant reports. Additionally, some users have pointed out that Ramp does not immediately recognize purchase cancellations, resulting in unnecessary reminders to submit receipts or tag canceled purchases.

Lack of Mobile App: Users have requested a dedicated mobile app for both iOS and Android platforms. They believe that having a mobile app would improve their experience by allowing them to categorize expenses more easily, request temporary limit increases via Slack or mobile, and access Ramp's features on-the-go.

Users highly recommend Ramp for several reasons. Firstly, they find Ramp to be a great tool for payments and virtual credit card programs. Secondly, users recommend using Ramp for closing out the books easily and tracking expenses, as it simplifies the process significantly. Lastly, users appreciate that Ramp is easy to use, making expense reporting management a breeze. Users also recommend Ramp for improving expense tracking, purchase card programs, and reimbursement systems. They believe that Ramp is a good solution that is easy to implement and offers an excellent user interface. Additionally, users recommend Ramp for managing company expenses without a dedicated accounting team and as a must-have part of any growing company's core infrastructure.

We have 40 credit card holders using a commercial corporate credit card. Ramp provides a zero cost solution with higher rebates (1.5%) so this expense management solution replaced a competitor. Ramp provides a better overall view for administrators with the ability to view spend across various merchants and spend categories.
  • Matches receipts sent via text or email.
  • Integrates with Amazon Business and matches receipts to spending transactions
  • Integrates with gmail and provides another mechanism to automatch receipts to transactions.
  • More flexible spend rule requirements that align with the $75 IRS compliance rule for food/travel purchases. Our organization has a $25 compliance threshold for food and travel. It would be helpful if Ramp provided the ability to customize this type of spending requirement for particular categories with respect to receipt requirements.
  • A little more support in implementing a two-entity environment.
  • Increased heads-up on : auto approval of credit card returns.
This application is well suited for small organizations and appears to be scalable for very large organizations as well. We have around 100 employees and 40 with a credit card and the application works very well. The transition from a competitor was well received and the ease of matching receipts to transactions has been well received. The integration with gmail and Amazon Business has had a major impact in streamlining our expense management process.

Corporate cards (so fewer expense reimbursement struggles), bookkeeping/accounting, bill pay, helps us save money through cash back and savings opportunities, helps us with certain employee programs like relocation stipend.
  • Bill pay
  • Accounting
  • Expense reporting
  • Bill pay is only available in certain states (our company just moved to TX and it is not available there).
  • Does not work on Chrome (many of our employees have had issues on Chrome).
  • A bit difficult to navigate in terms of making sure everything is complete/ready to sync.
Great for a young startup, but probably not the best option for larger companies.

We use Ramp for our commercial credit cards and expense reimbursements. The solution helped us with end-user simplicity. With other card programs, we struggled to get our staff to upload receipts and code their transactions. With the default coding capabilities and easy text/email receipt matching, this process has made it easier for everyone. We always get great feedback from our staff.
  • Receipt Matching.
  • Easy to use site.
  • Simple export for upload into financial system.
  • Have a mobile application.
  • Integrate directly with more software than just Quickbooks (i.e. Blackbaud).
  • Allow for travel notices to be added online.
Ramp does well with any organization that is trying to make it easier to use for their staff. I would say it is harder to use for those that travel often. Without a mobile app, the user has to log into the web on their phone, and the capabilities aren't quite the same.

We use the Ramp to be able to allow users to self-manage expenses while being able to keep track of budgets, allocations, and approvals. In the past, we struggled to find a good platform for expenses that would have good approval flow while integrating with our accounting platform, and Ramp solved that problem.
  • Expense
  • One off credit cards
  • Reimbursements'
  • Suggestions for savings.
  • Cash back on purchases.
  • Payments integration with Xero doesn't quite work as expected.
  • Some of where settings/configurations are, aren't intuitive.
In general, Ramp is great for companies trying to manage expenses and approvals for employees. I'm not sure how well it scales to massively large corporations, but at least for our size, it's fantastic.

We were spending WAYYY too much time on spreadsheets tracking bank statements and expenses. Ramp has saved us so much time by automating tracking and spending. Ramp is really intuitive to use and administer to our staff. I really like that we can have unlimited virtual credit cards as it makes the reconciliation process 10x easier. After each transaction, you get a text message to prompt you to add a receipt which is a nice friendly reminder. And can't go wrong with no fees and cash back. Ramp is really good at allowing you to easily create a corporate credit card, whether physical or virtual, to pay for your business expenses. By simply forwarding your receipts to Ramp covering those expenses, it automates matching those expenses with your receipt and confirms that it is a valid business expense. So easy! Ramp also will send you reminders to submit receipts for expenses if you have not yet done so.
  • Automating expenses
  • Easy user interface
  • Automated reporting
  • Free virtual cards
  • Great UX interface
  • Even more integration to have us spend less time on reporting expenses for grant reports
  • This does not happen often, but if you make a purchase and then cancel it with the vendor, for some reason, Ramp does not immediately recognize that purchase cancellation and will continue to remind you to submit a receipt or tag it as an accidental charge, but there is no option to tag it as a canceled purchase.
Ramp is great if you want to automate your expenses process. Ramp immediately responds when I (or someone on my behalf) make(s) purchase and I can easily pass receipts and notes live. No more searching for "stuff"!! I spend more time on my job and not worrying about chasing things down or forgetting what was purchased. I charge, I send notes, and I'm done. It's so easy!!! It's incredibly helpful to be able to instantly spin up a virtual card for employees on the go or who have planned expenses. It gets you away from a delayed reimbursement to remote employees and having expenses coded by the employees shortly after they make their purchases.

We use Ramp to provide purchasing credit cards to our managers, and employees who travel. It provides us a very convenient way to get cards into people's hands quickly, but still has good spending controls, limits, and reporting processes.
  • Virtual credit cards
  • Spending controls and policies
  • Expense reporting and approvals
  • Integrations and onboarding
  • Expense categorizing defaults
  • Some minor UI polish quirks
Ramp has been fantastic. It is like going from fax machines to email! The digital controls are very convenient and are light-years ahead of purchasing cards we've used before.

We use Ramp to manage employee expenses, as well as pay our vendors.
  • Easy to create and manage employee cards (manage approved vendors, create spend policies, etc..)
  • Effective workflow for employees to submit and reimburse expenses (mileage, for example).
  • Can centrally manage all vendor bills and pay them from one place.
  • Some canned reporting can be better
  • The ability to toggle on/off the display of all 1-time virtual cards would be a great value add.
Very easy to centrally manage all company expenses, plus even 1.5% cash back on all credit card purchases.

Ramp replaced our old corporate expense card and we have been impressed with how easy it is to use for our employees. Plus it allows for a more efficient and timelier close of our month end financials.
  • Integration with smart phone camera for receipt capture.
  • Recognition of receipt information.
  • Easy of getting new employees on the platform.
  • Allowing for virtual cards allows for flexibility.
  • It would be to have a specific Ramp app.
Ramp just makes getting a card in everyone's hands faster and then allows them to comply with a receipt picture and a description of the expense and they are all done!

Ramp has been a useful tool to reduce time expense reporting and managing our bookkeeping. Their platform makes interaction with our staff simple to use and easy to implement. This also allows our finance team to easily overview spending on various team members' cards. Additionally, the use of virtual cards has enabled us to track expenses by vendor, which is hugely useful.
  • Expense reporting
  • Vendor spending
  • Team and platform interaction
  • Accessibility to smaller nonprofits
I often recommend Ramp to other local nonprofits as the account is not tied to a personal guarantor. This is important because acquiring a credit card as a nonprofit is often challenging, and could result in a conflict of interest. However, Ramp is suited for medium to large nonprofits, not small nonprofits due to eligibility.

Ramping up with Ramp

We Ramp to manage our corporate card expenses and expense reimbursements for our employees. It increases our line of sight into what is being spent using company funds and also streamlines the month-end close with the various automation Ramp provides.
  • Automated rules that can categorize a transaction based on either the merchant name, location, person, department and so forth.
  • The native integration with Amazon business and being able to pull in receipts automatically.
  • The native integration with Google Suite and being able to pull in receipts automatically.
  • A mobile app for IOS and Android.
  • The ability to request temporary limit increases via Slack or mobile.
  • International billpay.
Ramp is well suited for its accounting functionalities. Being able to batch edit or set up automated rules to categorize transactions is a huge unlock. Often I have found that the lack of a dedicated mobile app leaves more to be desired as most of our employees are on the go.

Our accountant recommended Ramp as a solution to the problems we were having with receipt compliance, lack of visibility, and more. We switched from Expensify to Ramp almost a year ago now. Our team has rapidly adapted to Ramp and compliance has grown drastically. It's very easy to issue cards to employees. We had one employee who had her card stolen. One-click locked the card, which is a great feature. We created a temporary card for an intern to use in the parking garage. The card would only work to pay for parking in that garage, and for a limited amount of money. This made it very simple to provide the intern with a card but not have to worry that it would be misused. The ease of use is refreshing. Ramp sends texts and/or emails after a purchase is made. We can set trigger alerts on big spending. We can automate repeat expenses, which is a real-time saver. One feature I'm looking forward to using is setting other managers to oversee their teams' spending. We are not quite there yet, but the feature on Ramp will make that shift smooth. Overall, we are very happy with Ramp.
  • Reminders to upload receipts
  • Ease of adding/removing cards
  • Subscription cards
  • Visibility of expenses in real time
  • Better categorization of some vendors, or the ability to update them manually
  • Better assistance with charge disputes
We are a team of 14, and Ramp is perfect for us. However, from the ease of use, it seems that Ramp would also suit much larger needs. I don't see a time when we would outgrow Ramp, as it's so flexible and easy to customize to our needs. The Quickbooks sync makes our accountant happy.

We use Ramp for expensing and company cards. We use both physical and virtual cards.
  • Matching email receipts to charges
  • Virtual cards
  • Slack integrations
  • Approvals - I don't always want to log in to do so.
  • Logging in can not always work online.
I have really enjoyed using Ramp. I find it overall easy to use from both an end user and management side. It is well suited for teams that need to offer corporate cards to many team members because of the ease of managing them.

We use Ramp in my company to better track and monitor spending. With all our perks and benefits, Ramp has made it easy for team members to utilize a company card without the hassle of the typical expense-reporting protocol. Ramp is an efficient, user-friendly, and engaging way for employees to feel like they have control over their spending while also being able to follow guidelines easily.
  • You can forward your receipts to receipts@ramp.com and it will auto-approve.
  • You can easily reverse charges if an employee accidentally places a charge on their work card.
  • You can send employees physical Ramp cards.
  • You can create as many virtual cards as needed.
  • I think Ramp can help do a better job of budgeting management - how can expenses be better tracked and allocated for specific team members/departments?
  • I wish there was a way for Ramp to break up departments on the 'company' page. There are a ton of employees and sometimes it would be great to see them broken out, almost like an organizational chart vs having everyone listed out in one place.
  • I really like that Ramp flags when an employee might have triggered spending too much, a false charge, etc. However, it would be great to get notifications from Ramp more thoroughly on spend by employee (i.e. x employee spent $100 on food this week, x amount on travel) to get more of a high level report back on all the moving pieces.
We are allocated a $100/week budget for lunch. Having Ramp in place for our team members is easy and convenient. It's this convenience that makes placing orders for lunches or even just another spending effortless. If there are ever any instances where an employee has noticed a fraudulent charge, Ramp makes it easy to flag it and process a dispute.

As a small team, Expensify was clunky and difficult to manage. Ramp GREATLY simplified our use, so we can focus on our mission. Also, our credit limit increased to a much more usable level, compared to credit cards through a bank.
  • Ease of expense reporting
  • Great credit limit
  • Syncing with quickbooks
  • Overview of monthly spending
  • Simple to reimbursement employees
  • Simple to order new cards
  • Simple to create digital cards for quick, online use
  • Easy to understand and implement
  • implementing a mobile app
I only have experience in a start-up that has grown from 2 employees to 11 employees over four years (small scale). It has been a perfect fit for us to simplify expense reporting and bookkeeping so we can focus on our mission. I would recommend it to ANY church or church start-up as a great option for employees.

We use Ramp for corporate spending and reimbursements. With the ability to create virtual cards for an endless number of specific reasons, we can much more easily monitor, control, and manage our recurring and one-time expenses. We establish budgets for teams and projects, and those budgets are loaded into the cards we set up. As a startup still establishing our credit profiles, Ramp has made it very quick and easy to give our employees the autonomy they need to make purchasing decisions responsibly.
  • Easy to set up virtual cards.
  • Managing receipts/documentation for expenses.
  • Management of recurring expenses.
  • Hiding cards not active/in use.
  • Integration with popular software tools to capture invoices that don't get emailed each month.
  • Saving email address in login.
Ramp is an excellent choice for companies who want to give their employees autonomy in their spending and purchase decisions. Ramp is an excellent choice for companies looking to create more efficient, automated processes, lower the chance of fraud, and have more visibility into where they're spending their money. For employees who struggle to keep up with their expense reports, Ramp makes it really easy to automate receipt captures and makes the process almost entirely hands-off.
