We use SmartRecruiters for all of our recruitment (Early Careers to Senior Hiring) in the UK and Australia. It supports all the way from attraction to onboarding where we move over to our HRIS. We have our website and LinkedIn integrated from an attraction perspective, DocuSign for contract generation and we're currently moving to a background screening provider who are part of the SR ecosystem.

Pros

  • Simple backend set up and admin training
  • Intuitive workflows

Cons

  • Could be easier to organise back to back interviews
  • Reporting is mostly very good but can end up with some duplicate data

Likelihood to Recommend

SmartRecruiters is the best ATS I have used in almost 15 years of recruiting. It's simple to use, has all the functionality you need and hiring managers also use the system very well. I've implemented it twice now and have found the process straightforward compared to other systems. I'd recommend for any organisation needing a solid recruitment platform - works very well globally too.

We use SmartRecruiters to do all our recruitment up to onboarding. SmartRecruiters solved our problem with multicasting, delayed responses and application tracking. We use it with our different managers, all our regions and recruiters. This makes it possible to track applications in the pipeline. This allowed us to implement more processes.

Likelihood to Recommend

SmartRecruiters is very useful for putting an ad online. Multicasting is also well done because it allows you to send an ad to several different job boards in one click. On the other hand, the egonomics needs to be reviewed, the different tabs are poorly placed, just like the visualization of the CV.

We use SmartRecruiters as our ATS for both US and Barcelona open requisitions. I would say our hiring needs are a bit volatile, and quite dormant in 2023 but we've been able to solely focus on this tool for our applicant tracking needs. I'd say something I'd like to be implemented within the system is to have it a bit more user friendly, and to have a support chat tool to answer any questions I have right at the moment. That would be super helpful.

I think SmartRecruiters is well suited for smaller companies with low budget to get started with the recruitment processes. I think once the company is more established, there are other better solutions like Greenhouse or Lever which are more user friendly, have a vast suite of solutions for more reporting or convenience tools

SmartRecruiters is the only way talent gets into the organisation. It's our way to attract, evaluate, select, and manage all applicants at QuoIntelligence. It's a critical asset here, as we've gone from 4 to 50+ employees.

It was essential in getting our applicant-to-hire ratio to 200:1, with a time to hire of 40 days, and only half a recruiter on it. Through its workflow automations and off-the-shelf integrations we ensure excellent candidate experience, hyper-efficient recruiters, and happy hiring managers. All compliant.

Likelihood to Recommend

Excellent for both a small startup like us, or for a large enterprise with 10,000+ employees like the places where I've led TA Tech decision making processes before. Can handle very well both large volume recruiting as well as highly specialised and crafty positions. Its configurability and UI/UX ensure customisation to a level rarely seen.

Not only the tool is great, but the overall customer support is really good!

SmartRecruiters is an incredible tool to keep all parts of the recruitment process in a single place. From posting jobs, managing candidates, keeping track of their status in the process, adding comments and important information about them in an organized way, collaborating with the hiring team, etc.

Pros

  • Sending interview and self-schedule interview invitations directly from the platform and integrated to Outlook.
  • All sorts of possibilities to ask questions or add important information about the candidate (screening questions, forms, specific and customized fields such as notice period, salary range or expectations, etc.)
  • The recruiter interface is really good, with lots of details to allow the team to be more organized and efficient

Cons

  • Too many filters that are not the most important ones. Sometimes it's hard to find what we are looking for
  • I'd like the possibility to customize the fields and filters more (especially on the candidates tab)
  • Because SmartRecruiters is SO complete, it can be complex to do some setups or to use all its functionalities sometimes

Likelihood to Recommend

SmartRecruiters is less appropriate when recruiting for a role that can be based in multiple locations (not a remote role, but candidates from different parts of the world are accepted). To save time, we should be able just to duplicate the job and only change the location, but instead we need to rewrite everything. This is one example of an inconvenience.

My team and I use SmartRecruiters to post jobs, communicate with potential candidates, schedule interviews, send offer letters, hire candidates in conjunction with Workday. Using SmartRecruiters allows us to track all actions related to the hiring process.

  • Sometimes changes are made and they don't need to be made. Example: the scheduling page layout

SmartRecruiters is a great tool. We could schedule up to 100 interviews per week spread across out global offices. We are able to do this fast and efficiently with the help of SR. We are easily able to directly email and coordinate both to internal teams and with external candidates. We are also able to track all activity when it comes to scheduling, reviews and job postings.

It enables a great and engaging candidate experience, simplified self-service, and collaborative hiring manager experience. With great insight through reliable data, it enables us to make informed business decisions and drive our recruitment strategy forward and fulfill our hiring requirements. We are able to understand the status of our vacancies and offers at a glance. Our Recruitment business partners see the value the product brings to the daily workload and the Hiring managers can independently navigate the system quickly and easily for their requirements.

SmartRecruiters has allowed us to enable our hiring managers to self-service their requirements for recruitment, simplifying our internal processes. We have visibility of recruitment requirements and significantly improved our approvals process using the software. We have been able to configure our hiring processes relevant to different areas of the business. Collaboration for our hiring teams (managers and business partners) is simple and effective. Candidate experience is enhanced and engaging. The platform has brought many benefits to our Resourcing business partners and hiring managers. We have visibility and insightful data which has integrity, allowing us to make informed business decisions. Our offer process has seen significant improvements and provides an engaging candidate experience, previously this was a labour-intensive process that is now streamlined and automated. The recently launched Community for collaboration amongst customers is very helpful and insigtful for how other people are using the software and exploring ideas with each other.

I really appreciate working everyday with Smartrecruiters in all the recrutment process - from created a job to hiring a candidate.

As I now working through all countries of Europe to put Smartrecruiters within our colleagues I can see that when we have to use the platform in all countries the using and setting can be complicated.

  • Is almost 100% adjustable to your specifc need
  • Help recruiting manager to keep track of what's going on with their vacancy

Cons

  • The websites are not as adjustable as the rest of the application
  • Smartrecruiters don't ask for money for an API integration to work, but some partners do.

Allowing us to track properly the candidates paths and improving the overall candidate experience, it also allows us to keep an history and track the right KPIs.
