This adaptability allows users to align the system with specific business needs, enhancing overall operational effectiveness.
Use UKG Pro for payroll and scheduling. In my opinion, it's terrible for Public sector operations that are 24/7, like police and fire. I would never recommend.
Pros
In my experience, give my organization a new technical problem every week
In my experience, overcharge for services not rendered
I feel it's outstanding in how it always has something wrong
Cons
Better implementation support, not steamroll with consulting
Better priority with technical tickets
Needs to provide cross-departmental super users the ability to view employees in different business units. i.e. Finance can see all Police employee timecards and schedules for auditing
Faster report generation for 1000+ employees
Better connectivity with ERP system
I feel there's too much nonsense to click for any action
In my experience, accruals are always a problem, giving errors
I infinitely wish for this system to crash and for UKG to be bankrupted to the stone-age so a better system can take its place

I feel UKG Pro has been so horribly rolled out at the City of Houston. I'm amazed that, as a system administrator, it even works at all. In my opinion, the greatest expense the city has budgeted is managed by a shoe-string, janky, bug-ridden mess. I truly hope UKG is bought out for 2 cents and scattered to dust. In my opinion, terrible maintenance and support, the worst consultants money can buy, the sleaziest sales accountants. This system tries my patience as a lead system administrator and I would caution anyone considering bringing in this mess to their business. It's been a year now, and we still have workarounds and bugs daily.
As a general manager I use UKG Pro to schedule my employees, complete trainings, check and update HR info, process payroll etc. I use it on almost a daily basis
Pros
i can not think of a single thing that, in my opinion, UKG Pro does better than anyone else
almost everything is difficult to use for us
and frankly I don't understand how they're so highly rated
Cons
In our experience, the page reloads every. single. time. you. do. anything. it's seriously infuriating and can make posting a schedule take 5 times longer than other scheduling platforms
shift types should be color coded and you should be able to view the shift type without clicking into it
please stop displaying the notification about the "new" drag and drop feature. it's not new. you've been saying this all year. and it doesn't really even work well.
In my opinion, the UX is not intuitive in the slightest, just in general it's very difficult to use
not having the option to change your schedule view to start on any day of the week other than monday is incredibly frustrating for us. our company starts the pay week on saturdays so calculating overtime for the week is difficult now that you've changed it.
week/month schedules should be able to be copied. and you should be able to both copy and delete a shift from the month view. I think it's crazy that you don't have this functionality
the fact that I had to hunt this survey down to give feedback because you have no direct support contact is also very inconvenient. In my opinion, UKG Pro doesn't care about the experience of their customers and this makes that evident
it's almost 2026 and the state of your mobile app is dissapointing at best. My team members almost exclusively use their phones to access their profile, and I think UKG Pro needs to put a focus on making the mobile user experience easier and more intuitive

Literally every other HR/Scheduling service I've used in both my manager career and as a regular employee has been faster, easier to use, and better to look at. When I Work, Paylocity, ADP, etc. For me, every day using UKG Pro is a struggle and currently I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
I am the Payroll Manager. My team is responsible for processing any pay or time related items. We configure business rules related to payroll. We run standard and ad hoc reports for internal and external customers. We utilize payment services for tax filing, garnishments, and direct deposits.
Pros
Step by step payroll processing
User friendly for employee self service
Robust reporting
Cons
New feature rollouts need a bit more communication/training
Prior year adjustments and amendments have too many steps
Deduction start/stop at year end stressful
Likelihood to Recommend
I have always said that UKG Pro is the gold standard for HRIS! I will say in recent times it has become less reliable (401k backend snafu this year comes to mind). However, having utilized multiple platforms for HR and payroll over the years, I still prefer UKG.
Our company uses UKG Pro with WFM, Payroll, LMS, and HRSD. We have a diverse workforce of teams that work mainly outdoors in vegetation services. UKG Pro helps us directly address needs of those at our frontline by allowing us to onboard and train our new employees and continue training our existing employees very quickly. We also have processes in place to help fulfill out weekly payroll for our frontline workers no matter the job they have.
Pros
Time Tracking
PTO
LMS
Cons
Improved Search within Pro. The search makes it hard to sometimes find employes due to constantly having to change the Role one is searching as well as the existing filters next to the search bar. A "smart" search would be helpful.
Role Automation
Likelihood to Recommend
UKG Pro is a good tool to help with almost all HR/HCM needs. The minor cons are definitely outweighed by the benefits of being able to deliver results to our internal customer and that is our most important job.

Recruiting, onboarding, training, payroll, time tracking, performance reviews, HRSD. Faster onboarding <24 hours for 1/3 of new hires, allows integration with 3rd party time tracking, allows customized training and curricula. Our organization employs 6500+ workers in 43 states who are mostly remote. Recruiting/onboarding/training modules allow us to deliver without being face to face.
Pros
Payroll: allows import of time from 3rd party time tracker
Dynamic reporting abilities in BI
Onboarding efficiency
Cons
PTO mapping non-existent
employee voice not customizable
WFM changes are not linked to core
Likelihood to Recommend
Onboarding module is good except for allowing customized forms. Report works well if you are able to join tables. PTO mapping causes issues when employees change jobs.
We utilize UKG Pro for our US and CAD payroll, it is an easy to use platform for both our employees and the payroll team. In the past year we have had turnover in the department, the training available and the ease of use made onboarding simple and were able to have the new person up and contributing in no time. Thank you
Pros
ease of use
All in one solution
Constant updates and new products
Cons
Dashboards
Likelihood to Recommend
I do not have anything to compare this to as it is the only system I have used, it meets our current needs.
Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, Performance Management, Salary or Compensation Management, UTM, BI, Year End, ACA Reporting, Vet Reporting, EOE reporting... we use it every day and all day long for everything employee/personal wise!
Pros
UTM
BI
Payroll processing
Cons
Rapid Response
Case Management
Service Request Management
Response time in general
Likelihood to Recommend
Response time for any case or SR or Rapid Response was very slow but has improved significantly. I am finding that service faster when we submit a case through the Community than calling Rapid Response. Also, found that the skill level of the case responders has increased for the better. Still appreciate the Community involvement and response.
I am mainly using UKG Pro portal for applying leaves (vacation, sick leave and casual leave). We can also see our history of leaves like carry forward and pending leaves of year. The business problem which is being solved here is all information can be stored in one place like personal details , organization details , job details and compensation summary.
Pros
We can apply shortcuts that are visible on homepage for our daily activities like Request time offs, goals and upcoming schedules/ meetings.
Personal development plans can be added and we can update for the progress as well - good excerise for career development or upskill.
Take record of my timecards and my accruals
Cons
Personally I am not big fan of interface I get lost to fine something
At times my timecard doesnt show up I had to load everytime
Sometimes I dont get any approved leave notification after my manager approves, I had to go back and ask for the update.
Likelihood to Recommend
UKG Pro portal is best Suited- 1. For Request Time off /applying leave. 2. Career goals set up and timely review and update. 3. Daily schedules can be easily accessed. UKG Pro portal is less appropriate- 1.UI needs major improvement - I still feel lost although I am using this product since past 3 years.

In my current role, primarily it's used as a payroll application. So all of our employees use it to log in, look at their pay stubs, their tax information, and then it all comes from a central system into UKG Pro that we manage.
Pros
I mean, the self-service aspect of it is amazing. It takes a lot of the work from HR of having to print pay stubs and track W-2's and get those mailed out. We hire new employees and they are able to just log in from their phone and it's right at their fingertips 24/7.
Cons
There's nothing that I could say in that aspect that you guys would have any control over. I wish I had more access to certain things, but that's not a UKG Pro thing. The struggle that I have with it is, the only thing I could say is that some of them are employees that are not tech savvy or that don't have newer cell phones, struggle with just the technology aspect of it. So as helpful as it is for somebody that knows their way around a cell phone for others, they still want paper and pen.
Likelihood to Recommend
Just kind of like I said, I think it's very well suited. We hire a lot of students, college students, so they're great with it. They look at one time and they're pros with it versus some of the older generation that don't want, they're resistant to technology, they don't want to use it. So just trying to teach them and get them more comfortable with it. That's the only challenge that we really have.
