I use UltraDNS to check on dozens of domains that I manage or work with on a regular basis. I also have most of those domains on a scheduled 'Health Report'.
  • The reports are far more complete than any of the other DNS lookup I've used.
  • Breaking out warnings and errors is very helpful.
  • I like keeping a list of domains for quick checkups if a client is detecting a problem.
I think it is best when you might need a lot of detail. I wouldn't suggest this for sharing with an end user.
  • I like their free offerings.
I haven't needed to contact support but their website is pretty well supported.
I haven't had any problems.

We use it as the authoritative DNS for all our external domains. A, PTR, MX and TXT records.
  • Speed
  • Reliability
  • Resilience
It is a care-free DNS provider that has a robust infrastructure. Geo-specific resolution can be pricey, however.
  • Positive only. We do not Have to deploy our own solution and maintain it with all necessary upgrades and security fixes.
We read reviews and had a demo. That suited us well.
On a rare occasion that we call for support, more like a HOW-TO type of thing, it is a live person, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable.
