Im so grateful [...] chose Whova as their event coordination platform

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Whova was a great tool to use for organizing myself and how I engaged with other event participants. I used is specifically to engage with other event attendees, create niche specific chats with them, and eventually meet them in person at the event. I was also able to follow up after the event to collaborate on specific projects and initiatives.

Pros

  • Gamification on engagement
  • Organizing multiple events that are happening simultaneously
  • Allowing me to add specific events and breakouts into my agenda, and personal calendar

Cons

  • The profile templates
  • A better widget or user experience for onboarding
  • The use of more graphics and animations

Navigating Large Events is Easy

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As a participating and attending organization at YIMBYtown 2025, Abundant Housing LA made it easy to connect to event managers and planners to discuss events, share resources, and prepare for upcoming engagements. Furthermore, it allowed us to easily stay in contact and exchange information with other event attendees.

Pros

  • Whova allowed me to create my own thread for a topic I care about.
  • Exchanging contact information with people I met is super easy even though it saves the email address as the contact name.
  • The agenda options were helpful is seeing what was available and narrowing down to top options via the ability to double book on my personal agenda.

Cons

  • For my needs, I can't think of anything that falls into this category.

Return on Investment

  • My contact list has grown about 20% since attending YIMBYtown 2025, which has facilitated collaborations that strengthen my organization's capacity to meet our goals.

Usability

Whova Made Connection Easy and Events Effortless

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Climate Beacon did an excellent job using Whova to organize its three-day conference — sharing information seamlessly with participants about main-stage and breakout sessions, moderators, and panelists. The platform also made it easy for attendees to connect with one another, creating meaningful conversations that extended beyond each session.

This is a fantastic resource for any in-person event — it truly facilitates connection and engagement effectively!

Pros

  • Facilitate connection between conference participants
  • Communicate event details clearly - allowing participants to know both their schedule of break out sessions, along with other break out sessions going on simultaneously
  • Allow for conference organizers to directly, clearly and dynamically communicate with attendees, such as about last minute changes in the program schedule or VIP guest arrivals

Cons

  • There should be a way to download participant lists
  • There should be more integration with LinkedIn
  • Whova has a strategic growth opportunity to keep communities connected AFTER the event is over. For example, Climate Beacon just assembled the movers and shakers of the climate world in Boston; creating a community between them and offering space to continue to share ideas and opportunities amongst them in this space would be helpful.

Return on Investment

  • I was a conference attendee; cannot comment on this.

  • Agenda for the conference as well as descriptions of what is available and maps of the hotel it is being held at were SUPER helpful all at the swipe of your finger

Cons

  • Honestly it is very clear and easy to use

Return on Investment

  • The conference was amazing and easy to follow thanks to the app

Usability

Whova - 2025 [...] Conference Review

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I utilized this app while at the 2025 [...]Conference. Overall, I was very impressed with the platform and the networking tools. I loved being able to manage my schedule and have it ready to go to guide my day.

Pros

  • Direct networking with attendees and opportunities to meet.
  • Organizing the conference's agenda.
  • Connected well with the attendee roster available. I really liked the bookmark feature that helped me quickly remember whom I chatted with.

Cons

  • I did notice some lag in messages being received after being sent.
  • I also found it hard to go back to a community group meet up for updates. You had to manually go back through all the other groups to find the one I signed up for. I would see updates come through, but couldn't access them directly.

Return on Investment

  • I was very impressed with how I was able to note my interactions with attendees and used the bookmarked feature to connect with 21 close colleagues. This was my first conference as a representative of my city, and I was a bit worried about meeting people. With the support of this app, I was able to increase my opportunities to network by over 20 people whom I plan to reach out to moving forward.
  • I even made some amazing connections with about a third of them with a community meet up group for LGBTQ+ attendees and allies. Changed the whole conference for me and made it an amazing experience.
