Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It was to be our voip solution allowing us to communicate with each other via chat and phone, and also communicate w/ clients via phone and eventually text.

Pros and Cons

Pros

clean interface
quick to dial
no excessive options

Cons

In my experience, Fax is remarkably underpowered compared to major competitors
AI summarizing / notes
call recording
same thorough offering of features as major competitors

Return on Investment

I was marketed this as an alternative to RingCentral, in my experience, that turned out to be far worse, less capable, and more expensive
In my experience, took so much time to cancel and almost got sucked into the cancellation fee as the poor faxing features were not discovered until much later when we needed them
on the positive side, in my experience, 8x8 Work did graciously let me exit their contract due to 1. their violation of their own terms of service after starting to require TCR registration for SMS, and 2. the misleading and uninformed way I was led to sign with 8x8 Work for voip services (which was not at all 8x8 Work's fault)

Usability

It's very usable, but I am tech savvy so take this rating with that in mind.

I was told by an uninformed salesperson who is NOT affiliated with 8x8 Work or ring central, that 8x8 Work would be great and he likes it more than ring central for my use case.

I have since left 8x8 Work and gone to one of their competitors.

My understanding is that it has advantages for those who need to call internationally.

I think it is poorly suited for those who are tech saavy and will be able to set up their own phone system and take advantage of many nice features seen in competitor products. In my opinion, faxing is nearly a false advertisement as they require you to purchase an additional and separate phone number for each user for that capability. Also cannot fax via email.
