Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting
We are a non-profit membership association that also receives federal funding for training grants. We use MIP for the accounting of all functions of our organization, but it is most useful in the tracking of the seven different grants we currently have.
- Allows for the separate tracking of funds
- Great detailed reporting
- Has been able to integrate additional modules for different organizations as they need them
- Cumbersome in entering all the detail, but steps have been continuously made to improve efficiencies
- Drill down of reporting
- Reports are customizable, yet formatting is not helpful when you transfer to Excel
- Detailed reports - helpful for Audit
Yes, we have different funding sources for different grants. We are able to track individual [grants] and create easy reports that each funding source requires as well as maintain the overall reporting structure for the entire organization.
MIP has better reporting and more range for our custom needs

MIP Fund Accounting Support
Pros | Cons |

Quick Resolution Good followup Problems get solved Kept well informed No escalation required Quick Initial Response | None |
No - we have had users with years of experience with the system. Only have a few issues. We use our inhouse IT first to see if we can resolve.
Using MIP Fund Accounting
- AP is straightforward
- I like you have to balance certain Segments including Debits/Credits
- Payroll set up - lots of screens and codes for additional benefits/deductions. It doesn't confirm that all tasks are complete. Not super intuitive
- Tax reporting
- Report Writing can be cumbersome if you don't have the extensive training. Not intuitive to give a standard format for you to update/personalize.
- IMPORTS - not user friendly at all to write the codes needed.

Like to use Relatively simple Consistent Feel confident using | Lots to learn |
Integrating MIP Fund Accounting
- Imis
Our Programmer designed a process that extracts AP info out of the MIP database to add to our Customized Imis system. The process works great, but it requires that the TEXT entered in certain fields have NO errors (no typos). This is not an error on MIP, but a flaw in how my organization extracts the info to perfectly Match with the info in our IMIS database.
- File import/export
I think the import process could be easier
