Overall Satisfaction with ActivTrak
We utilized ActivTrak for a 14-day trial period and then purchased the application. The goal was to monitor productivity of our remote workforce. We no longer use the application. A couple weeks into our purchase we found that it was causing severe productivity problems by slowing our response time to internet resources.
- It is easy to roll out to PCs.
- Fortunately it was easy to uninstall as well.
- The application slowed response time on every computer it was installed.
- There was zero onboarding to help with setup.
- The dashboard was not easy to navigate and often produced incorrect data.
- They constantly try to upsell addons once you buy an entry level of service.
- We estimate the application installation cost our organization over $4,000 in lost productivity over a 4-week period.
- The concept is great, their execution did not work.
While using the application, it provided data on what internet resources were routinely used as well as what local applications users were using the most. What was unknown for a period of several weeks was that the information provided was costing us valuable productivity time because the application slowed down all of our users when accessing internet resources.
It helped us to monitor activities on all our remote staff and gave us insight into the most used resources, both internet and computer based. The application theory is great. However, this application doesn't work without creating massive latency issues.
ActivTrak was recommended to us by our network management vendor. We did not evaluate alternatives. We have since reported our experience to the vendor who has decided not to recommend them again. We will be looking for alternatives in the future.
