Acumatica VAR/Partner
We specifically use the Construction edition of Acumatica; we utilize the software to manage all financial aspects of project management as well as some of the project management aspects, including change order management and processing. The Construction edition is well designed to meet the industries needs and with some customization can be tailored to match your business processes but also create efficiencies through standardization and automation of various processes.
When I started the evaluation process, we were QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise users, we used the construction edition and while it had finance features such as project accounting and estimates, it was not a true ERP system that brought the project management and finance functions together. I started by evaluating Sage300 and quickly was deterred from speaking with current users that purported it to be much the same experience as QBD. I spent a lot of time with Netsuite, their core offering seemed to tick every box but again when it came to the project management function, it fell short, they do not natively support project management or construction specific features and look to third-party providers to fill the gaps, they were unsuccessful in providing me with a third party provider that could handle the needs of a Canadian General Contractor. Acumatica Construction Edition has what none of these other software providers does, an industry specific edition that goes beyond the finance department and bring the construction management function under the same umbrella seamlessly.
