Acumatica for Manufacturing
Overall Satisfaction with Acumatica
I primarily use Acumatica to do payroll journal entries, to reconcile the company bank account, to complete month end entries and reconciliations and to get data for the KPI reports that I complete weekly. I am relatively new to the program but have found that it is very user-friendly in the way it allows me to quickly see what is still outstanding for my tasks and to verify and quickly reconcile many things through the account details feature.
Pros
- Banking reconciliation: Quick, easy to understand and easy to follow to see where you left off
- Clearly displaying just enough data to answer questions without forcing us to work through copious amounts of detail or extracting data into other programs to get answers
- Billing and payment receipt is particularly helpful in the way that the data transfers into the banking section and is exported
Cons
- There are a few spots where there is a list of data that we need a total for and we have to extract to Excel to get a total. It would be helpful to see a sum right in Acumatica.
- For the first time today I had an interesting glitch - my entire bank reconciliation unchecked the "reconciled" column and needed to be redone for the month. Funky little glitches happen from time to time
- Pivot tables don't seem to update as expected by using filters
- Allowing cross-function between departments
- Easier tracking of past due AR
- Some limitations to KPI reporting (maybe just us needing more training and understanding)

My role is not customer-facing but I know with the AR and AP we have been able to work quickly to provide invoicing upon request and take payments
We are in manufacturing so we are using Acumatica from a warehouse management side as well as for billing and management of our GL by pulling in data from outside programs and using Acumatica as our "hub" to house our data and reconcile it. We primarily are using the program for finance and inventory management.
Acumatica pulls together the pieces that I used to have to build myself or use multiple systems to accomplish. Most recently having used Sage Quantum Accounting, I was struggling with needing to build many reports from scratch for reporting that I find Acumatica does with minimal request or customization required.
