Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

Adobe Acrobat DC is used to generate PDFs for many of our posted documents including user manuals, legal documents and policies. I use it often to consolidate updates to current manuals; to update legal forms for electronic signature and to post documentation to intranet and external website. I use Adobe Acrobat DC to add updateable fields. I find it very easy to use and intuitive.
  • Merge multiple documents
  • Manipulating document layout
  • esignature
  • Sharing documents and preventing changes
  • Easy to use editing tools
  • OCR Tools need improvement. Sometimes misses the mark with identifying text and fields.
  • Generating image from pdf with ability to resize
  • Flexibility with sharing documents - allow permission feature to permit users to edit
  • Combine documents feature
  • Edit pdf
  • Reduce pdf size
  • Reduced errors: Ability to share documents and prevent overwriting
  • Save time by merging multiple documents rather than having to reproduce
  • Convenience: Securing signatures and approvals without the need for in person interaction
  • Efficient and Productive: Create fillable forms in a short time
From my experience, it is not always perfect and reliable. I have run into issues with OCR. It does not always pick up text and fields accurately. I sometimes run into issues with manipulating objects on the form. There are some compatibility issues in the process of disseminating documents. Some users have issues reading documents. There are also issues with font compatibility and file size.
Working in a legal organization, security is very important. We use Adobe Acrobat DC to send legal documents to parties in legal proceedings. In the age of COVID, it has helped to make the process smoother in handling documents. It is sometimes a little cumbersome to update documents on the fly.
I have used Microsoft Word to create forms. I have also generated reports using Microsoft Access and generated a pdf using Acrobat reader. I also used InfoPath to create input forms and display data in SharePoint. I have used Snag IT to generate a snapshot to disseminate information that can not be edited.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

Best suited for sharing fixed documents that you do not want people to edit. Suitable for delivering editable forms. Good for sending secure documents for review, signature, and approval. It is not as suitable for sharing documents that require collaboration in editing documents. Also, users who do not have Adobe Acrobat DC may run into issues when the document requires changes. In addition, if the pdf is not saved with fonts, its appearance may change depending on the installed fonts.
