Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Commerce

We have standardised our B2C eCommerce engine across 20 countries on Adobe Commerce and our goal is to migrate to Adobe Commerce in 10 more countries over the next couple of years.

We are looking to move away from legacy solutions that make up a very fragmented ecosystem currently and to standardise on a best in class solution that will allow us to stretch scarce investment dollars while also enabling us to deliver a best in class eCommerce experience for our consumer and small business customers.

Pros

  • Store Administration is very granular allowing different roles and permissions depending on job type
  • Scalability supporting new country launches
  • Extensive feature set meaning we can often leverage instead of develop
  • GDPR and Compliance Laws are key considerations for us as we operate local stores on a global scale

Cons

  • The shift in strategy away from PWA has cost us dearly in terms of $ and time
  • Customer segments and groups for private store experiences, we found that we had a lot of development work to do in this space
  • Allowed us to retire legacy ecosystems
  • Allowed us to develop once and to deploy many
  • Out of the box features save us time and money
  • Promotion management is extensive and helps us to do more
We have teams all over the world administering Adobe Commerce stores and while some learning is required, we don't have huge training overheads of challenges onboarding and ramping new store admin and merchandising team members. PageBuilder is intuitive and easy to use in comparison to competitor and our home-grown offerings!
Open source nature of Magento was a key consideration, particularly when launching in new markets. Cost is another key factor here and the GMV model is an important enabler for us as we continue to grow.

Adobe Commerce is highly extensible and advanced customization and flexibility built in meaning that we can shape the product into exactly what we require.

Do you think Adobe Commerce delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Commerce's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Commerce live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Adobe Commerce go as expected?

No

Would you buy Adobe Commerce again?

Yes

Primarily B2C focused, I think that the B2B features are increasing but the core focus of the platform (and Magento) is really consumer-based.

That said, if you are looking for the fastest time to market with minimal investment option then Adobe Commerce is likely not the option that 9 out of 10 people would opt for nowadays.
