Overall Satisfaction with Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service)
Amazon S3 is used in our mobile applications inorder to have users upload images to the cloud and bring them back to their device. So when users upload an image, it gets sent to Amazon S3 and when an image is shown on the screen we are also pulling it from the same place lowering the load on our apps. It's used as storage for images only.
- Easy to upload and download
- Simple to pull into applications
- Fast load times for images and files
- Better user interface and user experience
- Didn't affect our business too much in terms of ROI.
- Cheap and inexpensive (free for the most part) so no negative or positive affects
Amazon S3 compared to all of these has the worst user interface. Drive and Dropbox as everyone knows is simpler and used for shared work files with a user-friendly interface. Google Cloud Storage and Amazon S3 are both in the same boat for large application files and great for programmatic storage. Both inexpensive and the only reason to choose one over the other is if you are running your application on Amazon or Google to keep everything in one place.
