Overall Satisfaction with Appian

Appian is being used across all of the University of South Florida. Over the last 4 years, we've implemented solutions to streamline and improve the processes taken by students, faculty, staff, and administration. Not only are we using Appian to create better business processes, but we also used it to create an information and action hub that is very accessible to all of our users, no matter where in the world they are located.
  • Seamless transition of applications from desktop to mobile.
  • Easy to learn low code environment.
  • Fitnesse integration
  • Google AI integration
  • Docusign integration
  • Process modeler tool is out dated.
  • Appian Community is hard to navigate.
  • Reporting tools are lack luster.
  • Quick application development and deployment to help students with numerous Covid-19 issues.
  • Revolutionized our faculty and staff travel process.
  • Streamlined many of the processes for undergrad application and course registration.
My team has worked closely with Appian support of a number of issues and requests for information. Their support team is both professional and timely in their responses. All of our developers heavily use Appian's provided library of functions, recipes, and examples. We have also had decent success using the Appian community to find development solutions.
The team at the University of South Florida has successfully implemented Appian in a variety of ways. These applications have greatly improved many of the pen and paper processes that once plagued our users. As we continue to grow and scale with Appian, we continue to find and solve complex processes that have improved the experience of all of our users. Many of the solutions we've implemented would not have been possible without Appian.
At this time Appian was our first attempt at a unified business process management software solution.

Appian is a strong tool when using it for requirements within its process management wheelhouse. We have experimented using it for applications, such as database management, but were met with mixed results. Where it's strongest Process management. As a single hub to go for information and to take actions. Quick mobile deployment. User security management. Integration with other tools (IE: Mulesoft, Fitnesse, Docusign, PowerBI, Microsoft Suite). Where it's weakest Reporting of both process metrics and data from the database. Managing the connected database.
