Overall Satisfaction with Apple iCloud
We use Apple iCloud for storage of communal files that we can then update, share and access as a group. It addresses our storage needs for a reasonable price point. It also allows us to access and store larger files for sharing purposes such as video and image files that we then need to use for the website as well as to hold onto for future usage.
Pros
- stores large files with ease
- shares large files with ease
- offers secure storage at a reasonable price
Cons
- Harder to access on a non Apple device
- Signs out too frequently and requires authentication on an old device
- Could have better organization of files
- It has allowed us one large cloud storage for larger company files
- lowest price point for cloud storage out there but again harder for non Apple users in the company therefore we still have to use alternatives too
- often find that it wants to store things not needing to be stored and having to log out wastes valuable time just to download shared files from contributors
Dropbox is more universal but has a higher price point that Apple iCloud and google while mid price point offers more options in software that allows for file editing and sharing directly in the document. Apple iCloud does not have that on offer. Apple iCloud is the lowest price point this far for what it offers it makes sense if you just are looking for easy share of stored files and large cloud Gigs.
