Overall Satisfaction with Apple iCloud

I use Apple iCloud in a business sense that part of the space is allocated as a backup, and it's a redundant backup. The other parts that I use are like a gigantic flash drive. In this industry, file size is huge - and having a way to share files say between home and business is a gift - and it's easy with iCloud - it's just a password that allows this!

Pros

  • Storage of Files
  • Transfer of files between sources
  • Redundant backup of files

Cons

  • I would love to see a way to partition the space in my iCloud Drive. Yes, it's already large and but I still would like that ability.
  • Cheaper would be nice
  • Shared space could be easier - between users
  • It has been a cost effective way to get a cloud backup
  • Lets us keep copies of our files compared to other cloud servers
  • Quicker time to upload compared to others
Because of the points I said earlier. This is a really good way to store files and to move files between locations and then users. But, it has flaws just like everything does. No system is perfect. But this is a good inexpensive way to keep all of your data in your control.
Egnyte was a good system, but there were two things that I didn't like. One, once your data was in their server, it was in their server. It came across as you did not have control or even ownership of it anymore - plus you had to maintain the payments to them, or it was all gone. That was what I didn't like when I was trying their company.

iCloud is always well suited to be used between Mac users, and for that matter Macs. It's a way to make sure that every file on a particular Mac can be backed up in the cloud - and with the recent disasters we have had in the south cloud backups are good - and the other good way to use this is like a gigantic flash drive - that lets me take files between home and the office.
