A One Stop Shop for Quality E-Learning Design and Development
Overall Satisfaction with Articulate 360
I am freelance learning experience designer, and I use Articulate 360 on a daily basis. I use it to create e-learning courses for clients across many industries. The e-learning courses range in complexity from simple video wrappers, to level 2 interactive e-learning modules. I use Storyline, Rise, and Review 360. Nothing comes close to Storyline!
Pros
- Rapid e-learning authoring
- Easy client reviews
- Creating interactive slides
Cons
- Rise could use a lot of features, like version control and the ability to move Rise blocks around easily across a lesson.
- The features in Mighty would be great to have inherently in Rise.
- Working with slides with videos is glitchy. It'd be great if videos could be more accurately previewed in edit mode.
- In general, it would be great if Storyline had video editing features akin to Camtasia.
- Creating e-learning courses in Articulate 360 saves costs from having in-person training
- The review feature saves project management time back and forth trying to determine client inputs
- Rise saves TONS of time because it's very rapid to build in, and easy to convert courses with text and assets
I use Storyline, Rise, and Review 360.
I use Storyline for interactive e-learning modules that need VO and asset timing.
I use Rise for text-based courses where a client has a slim budget.
Storyline blocks are great additions to Rise.
And, I use Review 360 for all courses I work on in Storyline and Rise. I also appreciate how Review 360 is able to be used for video reviews as well!

I have minimal experience with the AI assistant. It's kind of like Chat GPT but embedded in Rise. I have not had the chance to work with the AI assistant in Storyline. I'd be curious to know what the month to month cost options are. I feel like I need to actually use for specific projects to get a feel for it before I commit to paying more. I'm an avid user of ChatGPT. It would have to save me tons of development time in order to be worth the money.
Articulate 360 is so much more user friendly than Captivate. Its interface looking like PowerPoint made it so easy to learn. Overall, all Articulate products are very intuitive.
