Overall Satisfaction with Asana

We use Asana as our project management/task assignment within our department. We were looking for a low cost alternative to some of the more popular products. Asana has been critical to our project and task workflows. It helps us collaborate and keep in touch with what others in the department are doing. Asana is the product I'd been seeking for quite some time and it took care of my project management and task management needs.
  • It allows you to create Projects and assign tasks within the project. You can assign to other users or you can assign to yourself.
  • You have the ability to add people to a project to keep them informed of the status. Every time you update, it will update them in the Asana interface.
  • They have API's that integrate with other services to be able to make the product more useful. There are plenty of other services that help add functionality like you would get with a full project management suite.
  • I have the ability to tie a personal email account into my Asana account. This gives me the ability to have personal tasks and projects as well. These stay completely isolated from your organization's projects and tasks. I only have one source to go to for my personal and work projects and tasks.
  • Their mobile client is helpful when you're on the go.
  • You can filter tasks to only see what you want to see.
  • Instead of relying on other companies to provide solutions to make Asana a full project management suite, I'd like to see the addition of Gantt charts and Project Dashboards.
  • The mobile client does all that it needs to do however, it could be a bit more robust and it could use a facelift.
  • We've definitely experienced a positive impact on our ROI.
  • Asana leads to easier task assignment and reporting. It increases our employees' efficiency and eliminates the need to check in with others to find out the status of a project or task.
  • MIcrosoft Project,Zoho Projects
Asana is much simpler to use that Microsoft Project or Zoho Projects. Anyone can jump in and start using the software. There are also tutorial videos available on their website if you need any sort of clarification. You also can't beat free or low cost, depending on how many users you have.
Asana has helped solve a lot of headaches within our department. It has become a staple of our workflow and communication and it will stay around for a long time.
Asana is a great product to use when you're looking for a free or low cost basic project management suite. In my department we have the need for project management but not bad enough to go and purchase an enterprise wide solution that would cost a lot of money. It is best suited for this scenario.
