Overall Satisfaction with Asana
I have used Asana through previous employees and I continue to use it for personal side projects. Currently, I use it to manage a blog along with several team members. For simple, free collaboration, it doesn’t get much better than Asana. Asana helps us to stay organized and efficient while keeping the entire team in the loop.
- Asana allows you to assign tasks to team members and update those tasks with necessary information or files.
- Asana works well on a desktop or on your mobile device.
- Asana will notify you with task updates and deadlines.
- Can’t necessarily be used for an approvals process. Anyone can mark a task complete.
- Can become messy if a lot of communication is required.
- The base plan of Asana is free to use. If you feel it works well or merits an upgrade to a paid plan, I think it’s an ROI positive.
- Most paid plans require you to pay per user. For large teams, it may be worth exploring other options that allow for a bulk plan. Asana can be a financial drain off too many users are on the plan.
- KiSSFLOW and KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA)
While Asana is perhaps the best product for simple task management, I think competitors such as KiSSFLOW and KACE are better designed for a progressive workflow. If you can hand off a task to one person and be done with it, for example, Asana a great. If you need a customized workflow that automatically routes through multiple team members, however, Asana may not be your best option.
