Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

We use Avalara's product AvaTax for all of our sales transactions. We have it integrated with our online webstore and our accounting system. We use this daily and very heavily at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end for filing our sales tax with multiple different states.

Pros

  • Automating the sales tax calculation
  • Staying updated with changing rates
  • Providing helpful tools

Cons

  • Better customization of the product
  • Allowing for a history or audit trail view of user activity
  • Better reports
  • Avalara gives us the piece of mind we need when it comes to our sales tax compliance
I was not involved in these integrations.
The software itself is user friendly on a daily basis.

We have not used or evaluated any other Avalara products.

Would you buy Avalara again?

Yes

Avalara is well suited for calculating sales tax on all our sales transactions. We don't have to worry if we are taxing at the correct rate, or jurisdiction as AvaTax has that all up to date. We looked into using AvaTax for filing our returns for us but with small issues between our accounting system and AvaTax it was not going to work out. I wish these issues could be resolved because automating the sales tax returns would be great!
