Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce

I use BigCommerce to run my balloon delivery service. Local people will log onto the website, view balloon display option, purchase and chose a delivery time. I love using BigCommerce as it allows me to add bespoke options for users to choose a delivery date, delivery time and add additional extras.


  • Really easy to use, the interface is clean and manageable. You don't feel overwhelmed.
  • Easy to contact customer service. There were a couple of occasions where I contacted the support team via online chat and they were very quick and helpful.
  • There are a good number of apps available which are really easy to integrate into your store and help give you more features.


  • I wanted to open another store selling party accessories and it would have been nice if there are discounts available for opening more stores.
  • It would be great to see a few more options for free themes.
  • It allowed me to have a business that was accessible to customers 24 hours a day
  • It allowed me to create a new concept of people being able to book balloon deliveries online
  • The basket recovery emails worked really well and were so easy to set up, these helped save a lot of sales.
I find it easy to scale with Big Commerce, it's just a case of adding new items or categories. The platform is really seamless and also allows you to bulk upload which isn't a feature I've used but seems like an easy way to grow your products easily. I have over 1,300 products on my website, all offering unique options and I've never felt I can't scale with the platform.
I haven't used any API integrations but I've used features which allow me to personalise the buyer's experience. Rather than asking for the usual size, colour, I had to ask customers what time they would like their balloons delivered, what date and if they would like to send a personalised card to go with their order. This made my business complex from an eCommerce point of view as there were so many variables but BigCommerce features made it easy to ask these questions and then apply them to specific products.
I have used Shopify before but felt their interface wasn't as clean as BigCommerce and I also like the fact BigCommerce doesn't charge a cart fee percentage on each transaction, this was one of the major factors to why I didn't use Shopify for this business and tried BigCommerce and I'm so glad I did.
If you're looking for a platform that allows you to build a professional online store then I really recommend BigCommerce. Its really easy to add products, customise purchasing options and their reporting features allowed you to understand interesting buying patterns such as popular items and recorded search queries in your store which I regular looked at to make sure I was stocking in-demand items. The interface is easy to use and their support/customer service is excellent.
