Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
Big Commerce is used entirely for running my online retail business and does a great job of it.
- Provides a nice selection of themed templates making development easy for non-technical, small businesses, website developers.
- It allows me the opportunity to see my online business activity at a glance with snapshot options.
- It appears that sometimes my stock status is off. It is possible that it is the result of operator error, but there are been several instances that I know it was some glitch in the system. Not a major concern at this time, but I have noticed the events.
- I have not upgraded since initially setting up shop, so I cannot say if the there have been any changes in functionality, but I would like to be able to change the search option on my website version without the need to write code as I am not knowable in that area.
- Generally easy to use allowing me to streamline operations.
- It definitely has allowed me to reduce cost of ownership. Good price for a small business operation.

I cannot answer this question as it is beyond my computer software skill knowledge. I believe so much of what BigCommerce provides makes much of this pretty seamless. As my knowledge and advanced use of the system grows I may be better able to answer this question in the future.
My first website was built by a small, local, upstart company some 15 years ago. That website integrated with NCR Counterpoint, my POS at that time. I thought we had a nice website that communicated well with our POS; however, I was not happy with the cost of upgrades or the control NCR Counterpoint maintained over my inventory database and photographs. The upgrades and miscellaneous costs were more than a small company like mine could bear. I was also unhappy with the fact while stored on my server, I had limited access to my product descriptions and photographs. When my system crashed, I lost everything and had to rebuild from scratch or face high recovery costs. With BigCommerce I feel that I have much more control over my work and with cloud-based storage, I am able to work from different computers and I'm not so worried about the possible loss.
