Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT for donor management and engagement. As opposed to Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT database view, we primarily use Raiser's Edge NXT for adding detailed notes to constituent profiles, attaching check scans to gifts, sending emails, viewing fundraising reports, creating donation forms, and making strategic major gift outreach decisions through integration with Research Point.
  • The user interface is excellent. It makes viewing key constituent information very easy.
  • The email designer is very easy to use. It also integrates perfectly with the query/list feature, which allows us to segment emails.
  • The reporting page is very easy to use and provides great visualization tools that allow us to understand our fundraising efforts at a glance.
  • The fact that you cannot delete gifts entered directly into Raiser's Edge NXT is a huge design issue that has stopped us from using it to input gifts.
  • Donation forms generated on Raiser's Edge NXT have huge potential, but the process for matching potential duplicates automatically is flawed. Instead of streamlining the process, more often than not Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT creates duplicate records. The ability to double-check this manually like on database view would be much appreciated.
  • Launching database view from Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is often very glitchy.

Analytics and data intelligence provided by Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT has impacted our fundraising process in two key ways. (1) we are better able to track our fundraising and progress towards totals allowing us to make strategic decisions about future fundraising efforts and (2) the integration with Research Point has helped us build a major giving program.
  • Online Training
Online training from Blackbaud for Raiser's Edge NXT is very accessible and easy to understand. For less mainstream topics there are on-demand videos, which means it is very easy to schedule for team members who all have their own different schedules. Our team has also enjoyed the live training.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is very good for viewing and visualizing data, quickly and efficiently accessing and updating constituent records, and sending emails. It is a bold move forward for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, but it falls down in some key areas that make it an incomplete fundraising solution. Simple fixes, like allowing gifts to be deleted, are frequently ignored by Blackbaud developers and prevent me from giving this product a higher score.
