Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

As a large nonprofit organization, we use NXT to share and track data across our fundraising team. Our database administrative staff use the traditional RE database, but the rest of us exclusively use NXT to view and track donor/prospect outreach, giving, and engagement.
  • Shared, secure access to critical data from any device and location.
  • Ease of integration with Microsoft products.
  • Organizing critical data for each staff person.
  • More report/query options.
  • Some important database fields are not editable in NXT.
  • No option for recording text message interactions with donors.
  • Integration with other platforms (event, volunteer, finance, email).
  • A robust database with the ability for all staff to easily access and enter critical information.
  • Customizable user profiles and access.
  • An efficient system that has allowed for better data management and staff time savings.
We do not rely exclusively on the data intelligence provided by Blackbaud, but it is a good starting place and has helped to shape where we spend our time and energy.

Training has been good, but it is not easy to access from the database, and I am not prompted to take advantage of training opportunities - which means I often forget that they are available.
I was not a decision-maker in selecting either product. Boomerang was an excellent cost-effective option for a smaller nonprofit with less sophisticated needs. Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT would not have been a fit in that environment, and Boomerang is not robust enough for my current environment. Both have their niche and usefulness.

Would you buy Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT again?

Yes

For large organizations with many users and multiple front-line fundraisers, Raiser's Edge NXT is a great solution. It is user-friendly with the robust behind-the-scenes capability of the traditional Raiser's Edge database. For smaller organizations (budget and number of people), there may be lower-cost alternatives that would provide the necessary capabilities.
