Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

I use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT daily to track my activities in Major Gift fund raising for a regional comprehensive public university in the Midwest. I'm able to keep my Portfolio of donors organized, and using the Actions and other tools, prioritize my outreach, follow-up and next steps for successful outcomes. I enjoy the ease and detail of the Actions, and the customization of the appearance of the constituent pages' content in the web view. I sometimes find that the Constituent lists generated can help me focus when I engage in travel outside my "normal" assigned geographic areas, and appreciate the filtering to prioritize those constituents.

Pros

  • Easy organization and customization of constituent information.
  • Searchability of constituent lists by more than name.
  • Greater detail within data fields such as specific gifts or event attendance.

Cons

  • Organization of information within generated constituent lists sometimes doesn't seem as easy to customize as I'd like
  • My Work Center, Portfolio in particular.

  • I've been able to better search and utilize past communications with constituents using the Actions and Notes, giving me more efficient, quicker access to information needed to lead from discovery to closing a gift.
Using the Prospect Insights and Ratings together with data from other sources and combining these with discovery interviews, etc., guide my conversations with prospective donors. While not 100% on their own, they help give me a composite to work from rather than a simply "shooting in the dark" situation before I begin initial outreach.
  • Online Training
As with most trainings, the learning curve is more difficult when mostly online, and I felt that we could have used more check-ins once we'd been using the product for a few months. Most things were explained well enough, but the difficulties discovered through use were not always addressed right away.

I can quickly look at the pertinent information within a constituent's record by arranging the tiles and having them either expanded or collapsed as needed. I am often able to look into a donor's particular gifts and see the details I need, but sometimes the information isn't complete (method of remittance, etc.), which could be in how we use it more than the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT setup itself.
