Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is our current solution for all data related to the organization supporters. It is the sole gateway for all the information we utilize to make strategic approaches in fundraising campaigns. One of the great things about working with a Blackbaud product is the support received. They are great at troubleshooting any issues and following up as needed when an immediate solution may not be available.

Pros

  • Easy to navigate.
  • Easy to download and output reports.
  • Accesible via mobile, which is useful on the go.
  • Great customer support.

Cons

  • The main one that comes to mind is customization. It’s probably one of the biggest things that would be great to see.
  • Improve the syncing of data between LO and RE.
  • Improve importing to avoid less duplicates. De-duping is a manual process. Automation would be great!
  • Mobile and web access to data which is key!
  • Reminder feature is great too. Especially in fundraising.
  • Data export and reporting are super important. The fact that I can pull a report in a matter of minutes make it easy to respond to emergency requests in a timely manner.
  • Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT helps us maintain the data from over 14 different sources in one.
  • Our fundraising goals have exceeded projections year over year with all-time highs.
  • Our email response has increased with segmentation.
As the Director of Direct Response, I’ve used Blackbaud for over 20 years, and the analytics tools in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT have really enhanced our fundraising efforts. We use them regularly to segment donors and track engagement trends. These tools have shifted our approach from broad, general outreach to more personalized, strategic communication, which has improved both donor retention and average gift size. Overall, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT’s analytics have been useful for us, but occasionally, support can be slow, which is a challenge.

The content is solid, but for those who benefit from in-person interactions, it can be a bit challenging. While the online format is great for flexibility and accessibility, there’s something about face-to-face training that makes it easier to absorb and ask questions in real-time. Overall, though, it’s a solid resource for self-paced learning.

Personally, I feel that Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is a good solution for any size organization. They have all you need to maintain and use data regardless of how many records. It’s easy to learn and use. Plus, they offer a ton of resources that you can use to constantly keep learning how to best use features.

Evaluating Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and Competitors

Yes - Yes, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT replaced our previous custom solution, which we used for donor management and fundraising activities. Our old system lacked the ability to efficiently consolidate and manage donor data, making it difficult to track and analyze our efforts. The user interface was also outdated and not as intuitive.

While price, usability, and reputation were all considered, the ability of the platform to meet our organization's specific needs and provide scalable solutions for future growth ultimately made it the best fit.
If we had to do it again, we would place even more emphasis on involving a wider cross-section of our team during the evaluation process. Initially, we focused heavily on the product’s technical features and scalability, but it would have been helpful to gather more input from users, especially those directly working with the system on a daily basis.
