Overall Satisfaction with BlackLine

Blackline is being used across our whole organization. We are currently using it for account reconciliations, journal entries, and task tracking.

Pros

  • Automated journal entries
  • Visibility to completed and open tasks and reconciliations.
  • Amortization of prepaids.

Cons

  • Ability to link journals to recons automatically.
  • Matching/reporting capabilities.
  • Many of our prepaid entries have been almost completely automated through Blackline which freed up time for other more value-added activities.
Blackline is the first reconciliation software I have used. I went from always performing reconciliations in Excel to having this robust centralized system that offers time-saving functions even outside of the reconciliations.

Do you think BlackLine delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with BlackLine's feature set?

Yes

Did BlackLine live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of BlackLine go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy BlackLine again?

Yes

While a lot of the functions are great in Blackline once you get them set up, I feel like sometimes actually working within Blackline can be a little bit convoluted and not as intuitive as it could be.
There are a lot of self-help options within the Blackline Community where you can look up anything you need to know more about. We also have people within the company who have had more training than others so they are a good resource. I feel like Blackline does try to make sure people have the support that they need.
Blackline is a great tool for centralizing reconciliations and tasks. It provides opportunities for automation and efficiencies that are easily implemented and maintained.
