Overall Satisfaction with BrowserStack

We use BrowserStack in our web development process to check design is not compromised based on different viewport sizes. The cloud based software lets us remote into actual devices such as iOS/iPadOS-based Apple iPhones/iPads, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Windows, Linux, Mac (sandboxed) over the web. You can choose from different OS versions and browser types such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, & Apple Safari.
  • Real Device Web Page Testing
  • All Major OS Versions(Desktop + Mobile)
  • Multiple Browser Options & Versions
  • Needs a lower pricing tier for real device testing only (without automation features)
  • Does not have any free browser testing minutes (hoping for a free tree tier with a replenish on a weekly/monthly basis)
  • Does not have simultaneous or concurrent side by side comparison device sessions
  • Real Device Testing On The Cloud
  • All Major OS + Versions
  • All Major Browsers + Versions
  • I've had instant access to a real device environment without having to physical setup & transport devices.
  • Cut cost on device purchase & acquisition
  • Reduce maintenance on OS & browser updates
In my opinion, animations are sluggish and horrendous glitches for click + drag (simulating tap, hold & drag). Could be better at loading webpages and providing a higher FPS (144 perhaps?). I reckon the current FPS is under 30 frames because animations or videos played in the environment are very choppy or randomly slows down & speeds up intermittently.
Thanks to BrowserStack's extensive list of device, OS, & browser support options, our team is able to conveniently & quickly test designs on different viewports. I have taken advantage of their official Google Chrome extension that allows for local staging sites (localhost) and the feature works as intended. For a small team of 2 developers, this allows us to better optimize our clients' website UI/UX for all devices.

Do you think BrowserStack delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with BrowserStack's feature set?

Yes

Did BrowserStack live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of BrowserStack go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy BrowserStack again?

No

BrowserStack pricing structure seems its tailored more towards larger teams with multiple seats, it is expensive for a solo web developer to use for contracted clients. There are a lot of automation features as part of the lowest tier plan, but I never needed to use because my clients don't have sophisticated websites with e-commerce or logged in users.
