Overall Satisfaction with Canva

About half of staff uses [Canva] for 99% of all of our graphic design needs, from email blasts and headers to social graphics, website graphics, prospectus design and brochures.
  • It allows for people with limited graphic design skills to produce something sharp and clean.
  • It allows for people with graphic design skills to do about 90% of what they could do on a more dedicated, professional graphic design tool.
  • It allows for staff to work quickly on graphic design needs, eliminating for us at least the need to work with outside designers, to spend on outside designers and to spend time communicating with outside designers.
  • A few more advanced tools would allow for those with more advanced graphic design skills to do even more.
  • There are limitations on some tools that are probably in place by design, in order to make sure that those with limited graphic design skills can still produce something clean - these limitations will be frustrating sometimes to designers, but I understand why they're in place.
  • The folder / graphics interface could be improved.
  • A fairly robust set of tools.
  • Ability to collaborate on projects.
  • Ability to get non-skilled designers from nothing to something acceptable fairly quickly.
  • Canva has had a positive ROI for us. We create all graphics in-house and our materials look professional. We do not need to rely on a single employee to get the work done, which was a bottleneck in the past.
Compared to more advanced resources, like InDesign, Canva is limited. But what it excels at is in it's ability to leverage basic skills into professional work. A dedicated graphic designer will feel limited. But for our staff, where many of us needed the ability to create graphics quickly, it did help to speed up production work quite a bit.

Canva is really well suited to a small staff like ours, where we have no dedicated graphic design professionals on staff. I create the majority of our graphic design work - for landing pages, headers, email blasts, brochures, guides and more. My colleagues do also create whitepaper covers, thumbnail graphics and headers, despite not having much if any graphic design skills. They can also work from templates I've designed.
