Overall Satisfaction with Catchpoint

Catchpoint is a useful tool to monitor our network endpoints and performance for issues before they get noticed by our customers.
  • Multiple point of presences
  • DNS monitoring
  • Last mile monitoring
  • [In my experience], support for config management automation is really bad...
  • Fewer outages
  • Identifying DNS slow performance issues
We have rarely used the support but when we had to reach out, they were very responsive.
If you have experience with RUM, Catchpoint is very straightforward to configure for the default basic monitoring; however, if you want to create more advanced checks you might need to spend more time depending on your experience.

Catchpoint is well suited when you have multiple network endpoints in different geographical locations that you need to constantly monitor for availability and network performance. The product is very mature, but the configuration has a lot of room of improvement by supporting automation through a config management.
