Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Catalyst 2960 X/XR Series
Cisco Catalyst Switches are the most reliable switches we used for many years. From a security standpoint to it's invaluable reliability, Cisco always deliver more than expected. We needed to minimize data transfer problems, excellent technical support and a well known interface. The Catalyst series give us a greater peace of mind.
- Easy to use and well known interface
- Solid security features
- Better control over traffic than other brands
- Aesthetics! The housing looks the same since the 90s
- Cpu usage seems too high when used in distribution layer
- Free trainings to better train non Cisco Certified users.
- They are built like a tank. Every penny invested will be appreciated because they deliver and are almost problem free devices
- Data transfer rates will greately improve solving most "speed" issues that are very common in organizations that have grown they infrastructure just adding and adding different pieces of hardware.
- In our case we moved our operations to a new location that had a different brand of switches and right after we started having severe communication problems. This issues went away after replacing these switches with Cisco Catalyst 2960 series switches
We manage sensitive information so security is ALWAYS our biggest concern however in todays operation times we needed a combination of security, uptime, ease to trobleshoot and the fastest data trasfers possible. Cisco Catalyst continues proving that the decision we made many years ago choosing them, was the best investment our IT and company made in order to have a successful busines operation.
Cisco have the most popular interface in the market. Any networking technician have experience working with them in some way, that makes them the easiest to troubleshoot, mantain and administer. The Catalyst series particularily allows a depth of configuration that exceeds our organization needs.
